I also swamped for Colonel at Loffland Bros. He taught me how to drive a rig-up pole truck. I probably worked with you.

I was a crane operator on bucyrus Erie, link belt and Manitowoc cranes moving drilling rigs from 1976 to about 1991. Too many memories to mention. Long crazy hours and too much time away from family. Southeast Texas mostly. Be safe

I worked for BF Walker back in 69. My father and uncle also worked there, the dad was a truck driver and uncle was truck pusher. The big guy in the video with a cigar in his mouth is my Uncle John.

My first Machinest job was with Brewster Co., made just about every piece type of machinery in video: I.e. draw works, crown & traveling block, mud pumps + fishing tools. NW Louisiana & E Texas, was still doing ole skool Rig Stuff in early 80s. 108 degrees, 18" of mud, reach and get it with 1" Cable: or else😮 Good ole days😊

Pretty cool video. Surprising what you can do with a couple boom trucks and a couple winch trucks. Thats always been one of my fav things about working on rigs, theres always something you gotta make work with whatever you got on location.. This was clearly a well oiled machine looked like everyone knew what to do and when to do it, thats def something thats lacking from todays oilfield sadly

Wassup AJ. Only a few people who play a crappy video game will know. Time to get on those historic truck packs, buddy. Let’s do a 50’s rig move.

Wow what a video. My dad and his a coupke of his brothers was out there in the mid 50's and early 60's. I always went to work with my dad, it didnt matter if they were drilling, making a trip or tearing down, I was there. When I got old enough to work, I worked 8 years for dad, that was the hardest but overall the best 8 years of my life. When dad sick and retired it wasn't in my heart anymore so i moved on to something else. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.

Just stumbled onto this video this morning. Brought back a lot of memories. I knew that country like the back of my hand. There were a few fellas in that film that I thought I might have recognized. I broke out in the 70's and learned a lot from the old guys then. Nowadays they callus dinosaurs. But we moved more iron in an hour than these OSHA hamstrung kids move in a day. Thanks for sharing this video.

Thank you so much for uploading these videos! My family moved to Aztec in 1980. I remember the building of Animas Valley mall that you showed in one video. I was only six years old at the time in 1981. My dad got a kick out of the video of the rig moves. I enjoyed the racing video, especially the mini sprint cars. My wife's family built some and showed me pictures, they were the Hancock, and Blair families.

Swamped far after them years. Broke out in 2005 for Dawn Trucking and still in the same line of work here in 2023 now in west texas. Loved swamping on a gin truck grew up around trucks like that. Gotta love a 5 and a 4 and chain driven mechanical winch ❤😁😎👍🏽

I remember the Navajo Dam spillway flowing. I was in the third grade and I lived in Bloomfield. My family took a little trip out there to see it. I think my dad still has some photos. Of course, anyone from that time remembers the story of the man rode an inner tube down the spillway to impress his girlfriend. That was the last thing he ever did. You can actually Google story today. Thanks for sharing! This is quite nostalgic. Edit: p.s. - Those beehive hairdos are to DIE FOR! 😂👍🏽

Oh my goodness! I’ve always wanted to see what old Hwy 44 looked like! I was astonished to learn that the modern Hwy 550 was only completed 2 years before I moved here in ‘09!!! I changed the playback speed to slow down the Hwy footage and then I sped up the airplane ✈️ scenes, which made this video very enjoyable! The old cars in the background of the flight scenes and seeing the Sandias with so little city development around them were a treat as well!
