This wasn't QUITE how my pledging went, but this for SURE mirrors how other chapters' processes went at Hampton while I was there. Our process was the most fun we never wanna have again. Big ups for keeping this fairly realistic depiction up though-really gives people some options to weigh when it comes to Greek life

This is an accurate representation of my Alpha Phi Alpha pledge process in 1992. Actually looks a little easier in this movie. We got crazy wood and did a lot of calisthenics. I took over a 150 licks of wood one night, all at the same time. Not this 5-10 licks like in the movie. We had Shrine (set) twice a week for 3 months.

This film hit so hard to me at 1:05:19 when me and my LBs were on line under Dean Justin Montgomery’s SET in Spring 2005! Thank you, Sigma Man Mr. Vearl Tolbert and Ntuna Ekuri for allowing me to prove my worth now, reflect on helping young men here in ATL become Magna Cum Laude’s!!! 1:05:19 if you ever pledge, like, got hazed, this part hits hard for you more than likely. This is a moment that I heavily related to. Not necessarily because of the story behind it, but because of, the aspect of breaking down to a brother that you would have, seconds earlier, happily beat the sh*t out of. This is a powerful documentary. Edit after finishing: Let Hannibal's story serve in infamy, that the repercussions that extreme hazing can have. I went through almost everything that is shown in this documentary, but to a much lesser degree, and my fraternity has never had a problem anywhere near this extent, and we have been chartered for longer. All im saying is, hazing is snot great, but I understand that it is going to happen. Just keep it lighthearted, and within reason. If you get to the point where you say you are going "make someone drop", and you mean it, you're probably taking it too far. The way my house has always approached pledging is "the most fun you don't really want to have again". It is a hard line to balance between being a dickhead, and not being too much of a dickhead, but with some refining, it can be achieved. Like I said, I faced pretty much everything that was shown in this video, just not to the same extreme. And while I can admit that I was 'hazed' my house is, and has, neve going to put someone in the hospital.

This was way more authentic than Burning Sands. Even though this would be seen as a easy night. 😂
