Thanks for the videos! We'll be taking the same trip soon. Was wondering if you remember the time you first arrived to Denali, the time your park excursion got back (caught that it started at 6am), and what time you leave to head to Fairbanks. Trying to figure out how much time we have to explore the park.

I was wondering if you have ever used the "camera" feature on the google translate app. It has saved me in all of my work travels, You simply hover your camera over a sign and it translates it like magic! My favorite application of it is with menus. You never know what they are trying to feed you sometimes and many times, the translator would get it wrong.

Wow. Now tell me, what time of year was this? December? That snow was scary! I also thought you had the trailer for camping out...why did you bother towing that? Also, it would be a good winter project to paint the top half of it silver so it will match the bike.

This trip was in April. I take the trailer so I can change underwear everyday 😀. Actually I never thought I would tow a trailer but I Iove the thing. I have lots of toys. iPad, cameras, drone, etc. I also take a few tools. Then heated gear, jacket and several changes of clothes. And a cooler. A trailer makes that so much easier. Without a trailer you leave with every space packed. If you then buy a tee shirt there is no room for it. And everything has to be packed back in its place every day. Life is just so much easier with a trailer. And at 250 lbs loaded, it is no more weight than a large passenger. Thanks for watching.

You can't go too slow and you can't go too fast 🤣. I don't mind gravel but I hate washboard and dried ruts in the road. I got about 32 MPG. I have an oversized windshield and on the freeways I run about 5 MPH over the limit. I do better than that in the eastern part of the USA but the winds out west really cut down on the MPG. Gas is not a big expense. In my last video from this year's spring trip I break down all my expenses. Thanks for watching.

Valid point I guess. I did not want to go into detail about repacking the bearings as I have another video for that. I will add a link to that video in the description and here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ml7Egamrfbx1jpIsi=q0jogVXmkyZceYf7 I have an entire blog post about the disc brakes and that is listed in the description. This video was really about the crappy Chinese leaf springs and how easy they are to replace. Also to reinforce that if you put more than 10k miles on your RV, you need to start thinking about your suspension. Thanks for watching.

Just wanted to mention that if it has two stiff of springs a tiny pothole could send it upper foot off the pavement. You need to remove a leaf go down to one leaf and you put that center bolt it's called a tie bolt back in and shorten it by cutting it off with a hacksaw torture grinder anything. Add Thai bowl has to be there like you said to keep it centered in the plate. I'm building one with the aluminum Northern tool trailer and a Sears brand fiberglass cargo top. That's just about like yours. But with the aluminum trailer gives it a new and old and I have a lighter bike so we'll see thanks for the video!

I bought the northern tools version. It should have been an easy build. They wired the tail lights backwards. Tried pulling the working through the frame which was rough and sharp, this knicking the wires down to the wire. Had to replace it. They have a custom harness which take 6 wires (3 ground) and converts then to the standard 4 pin flat. I couldn't find that custom harness. Bought the standard 5 wire to 4 pin flat. Now the lights had to be grounded and the connector had to be grounded to the trailer. It took me longer to rewire the trailer than building it. Even the taillights themselves were backwards. It was a mess

Love your videos. I am going to Alaska in 2025. I am cruising solo. I can’t wait to go. One question for you. How often did you use your balcony? Is it worth the extra cost? Or would you do an inside room to save money and do better excursions or a land tour? Being a solo cruiser the room cost is times 2 for me.

Id recommend removing the leafs. I have the 40"x40" trailer that i set up to haul my motocross bike. The whole thing total goes to about 400-450lbs including trailer and bike weight and it had no movement out of 2 leafs. So I removed one and now it only has the leaf with the eyelet and slipper and now the trailer doesn't bounce all over the place as I tow it. You move less weight so youd be even safer doing that I'd imagine.

I have another year or so before I retire and then hopefully will be able to do some longer rides. I'm thankful that this past year I've was able to make trips to Florida and the Outer Banks. Thanks to your review of the Northern Tool trailer, I purchased the same one and also changed out the bearings and it pulled without an issue from Eastern, NC to Bradenton, Fl. and back. Also wanted to thank you for posting the expenses for the trip, great info. I haven't spent much time on your website, so I'll have to check it out. Get some rest. Well done.

Another good video although I continually struggle with your preference for riding early in the season when conditions are risky. Independent of heated gear, motorcycle tire compounds have less traction in cold weather. I ride in the high thirties when crossing mountain passes but it is a transitory temperature change. But you do you and keep chasing those western trails with your North Carolina climate calibration.
