Reduce the size of your grizzly to your gold size, if im in a potential nugget area i would go to !/2 standard or 1/4 for fine gold that way your recovery will be much better not competing with larger rocks.

Hi Gold Mack Would you mind helping out here I’m finding it a little confusing, first part is fine. I have an Ironstone specimen weighs Dry- 67.564g. Wet- 79.794g. Difference 12.23g … .. . (I reckon i read too many other ones before finding what i feel has no doubt sll the required fields, ie yours!)

Hi mate. Thanks for the video. Very instructive. I am wondering though, why is the original cable going through the shaft and the new one is wrapped around? Is it a personal choice or do you have to do it thisvway? Thanks

How can your density (specific gravity) be 1.77 when your rock is only quartz (2.65) and gold (19.3) ? It's impossible, density must be between totally quartz = 2.65 and totally gold = 19.3, not less or more.

?From Quest Tv Channel, they found a specimen : Try dry wt = 1105g & Wet (submerged) weight 960g using your method comes out to more than orig dry weight in grams? Their answer was 835.4grams of gold. ?

What depth do you think a equinox 800 would go is it as good or crap I know 2300 is probably better at fine gold but can you please tell me the truth because I don't trust the detector shops opinion they just want to make money but if they are shit can you please tell me what I should buy gpx7000 out of my range LoL

I think your method is incorrect since the specific gravity of your specimen is less than that of quartz. It should be higher than quartz since it contains gold. The volume of your specimen is simply the weight you recorded when your specimen was suspended in water. In this case the volume is the weight of water displaced by the specimen. When I corrected for this the calculation is still incorrect since the specific gravity is 3.66/1.59=2.3 which is still lower than that of quartz. Not sure what has gone wrong but there is also a problem with the weights. Or the specimen isn't quartz and/or gold.

Good instruction for making a Hand Pump, to be a Dredge would require a 1 x 1 way valve, 1x T piece and smooth bore hose and as many hose clamps as required. Your components are cheap and readily accessible, combined with excellent demo provides a working knowledge for the enthusiast. Keep it up.

Here's another method. X+Y=volume spec.in ccms. X19+Y2.65= 3.66 gms. Solve for X ccms of gold I came up with a negative answer so redo your wet weight. Diff between dry weight and wet weight weight in gms X 1 is volume in cms.

Something seems wrong, try weighing the specimen suspended in water. For submerged or wet weight.
