@@sunnysharma985 imo if you have a M-rr keep it at stage 1 with the air filter and a more open slip on. Not akro. Maybe the akro shorty. No need to mess with the M too much. But will it wreck the engine? No. Usually mistreatment does that job

I just wanna thank you so much dude. These videos were a tremendous help when tearing apart my M Competition. All the fairings, panels and sub-panels would have been a stressful nightmare without these. Just finished up my BT stage tune 2 IAT, Flapper, and velocity stack upgrade and install. Totally different bike now and now far more predictable on torque curve. This thing is gonna be stupid fun when I start tracking it.

Ryan, what suspension settings and tire pressures did you end up with?
@McBurly
@McBurly 2 ай бұрын
My suspension tuner told me not to bother recording the current suspension settings as there were too many variables including my rapidly increasing comfort and change of tracks. Tight/technical vs higher speed tracks etc. That said my next track weekend Ill start recording the settings as I feel I should be able to benchmark things per speed and my comfort now that Ive spun enough laps post break in. Tire pressures Hot: I was running 34 in the front and 24 in the rear on the stock tires. Ill be putting the slicks on this pending track weekend so well see if that changes but should be similar depending on conditions.

Are the benefits to deleting the secondary air system help with accurate Fuel and air when getting the bike dyno? Are there any other benefits? I am only asking since I have the same bike, but I plan on doing these mods down the road.
@McBurly
@McBurly 2 ай бұрын
Yes to dyno work as it will give an inaccurate fuel air ratio. But outside marginal weight reduction, from what I’ve read it doesn’t negate performance. That said: if you want that dragon burst from the exhaust as seen on the Tytlers Motoamerica bmws and or WSBK BMWs, removing them is the way. I would argue that slick explosivo moment is worth at least 10 HP.

How much do you weigh? I have same bike, (225 ib. w/ gear) Still trying to figure out suspension settings. IM so used to my 2021 k 67 M sport. The front end seems to continually bounce after high speed bumps on road. I have the rear suspension pretty good, i think. My eccentric came -1 from factory which made the rear feel way jacked ip. I adjusted it to -2, much better. Swingarm pivot is a 5 dots from factory. Yours? Did yours come with the GPS lap trigger already installed? Or what? Im realizing that my dealer forgot it? Be careful with sprint filter, lets MUCH more debris into engine....I run stock air filter. Are those the threaded or non threaded version of bonamicci footpegs? They look non threaded. Found them at motod racing. I actually dropped this bike, and bent the right footpeg, I did have frame sliders that took the majority of the fall, along with the carbon wing of course but only on the corner. can barely notice it. Also got full PPF/ceramic coating on full bike, worth every penny! Do you like the OEM seat? Im 5"8, and i could not stand that OEM seat. Bought a previous gen m1000rr seat and put a REALLY nice looking/themed seat cover on it from motostorm, check them out! Just type in m1000rr seat cover. You'll see ! Sorry for all the questions but you seem pretty solid! Love the content! SUBSCRIBED!

Im 220-225 w/out gear. My suspension tuners at the track have been able to dial me in w/ some room to spare with the stock springs and fluids so far, but I havent quite got up to speed yet as Im still learning the platform. That said the stock rear matches what you shared. Im hoping my next track weekend will give me the benchmark per unlocked bike, significant weight removed and my comfort increasing. So well see how the stock suspensions measures up at pace. The GPS lap trigger requires the purchase of the M Data logger and then activation at the dealership. The modules install in the tail of the bike. I went with the Aim Solo 2DL as I didnt mind the extra hardware and the pricepoint and functionality made it the more attractive option for me. Filters all have pros/cons. If I were riding on the street in mixed conditions Id agree with keeping the stock airbox per Maximum filtration but at the track in controlled conditions: max airflow is preferred. But if I run into issues Ill report back. Non-threaded for the Bonamicci footpegs. You can also get the www.bellissimoto.com/parts/rearsets-footpegs/footpegs/gilles-footpegs-for-rgk2-adapters, of which I also placed an order to see which I prefer. They offer folding and unfolding and even a race version. I dont have them yet to absolutely confirm compatibility but Im pretty sure per the hardware it will fit. I have the stock seat and no complaints from me but Im 6'1" No worriew with the questions. Happy to help!

How do you like that front wheel lift? I currently have a lift that requires me to take off the covers and bracket. Is it a tight fit without scratching the wheel covers? Also where did you get the carbon air box inlet?
@McBurly
@McBurly 2 ай бұрын
The alpha racing front wheel lift has proven to be solid for me, both in the garage and at the track w/ warmers. No need to remove the covers but you do have to be mindful when lifting/ lowering as they slide in/out in a particular fashion to slip over the covers and under the forks. Once you do it a couple times its straight forward. That said eventually I want to get a dedicated headlift stand for when I service the forks. I already have a Pitbull front stand with the headlift adapter but it will not work on the M as the tire hugger is too wide so you have to get the dedicated headlift stand to get clearance... likewise I think you have to remove the plastic shield that nests right below the mounting point underneath the forks... The carbon air inlet I sourced from Aliexpress as I was willing to gamble on quality for the pricepoint ($134 at purchase) and the gamble paid off, looks great and is lighter than the original per carbon swap metrics. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806468903162.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.order_detail_item.2.3957f19cPM9zsY&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa else Motomillion has them for like $380: www.motomillion.com/collections/bmw-s1000rr-23/products/zmm-carbon-fiber-air-intake-for-bmw-m1000rr-k66-2023-2024?variant=40382940381250

Sweet, excellent info. Actually helped me out quite a bit when I was pulling the fairings off mine today, so perfect timing. This'll help me plan out my future teardown when i start adding upgrades. I'll tell you, I was not comfortable with that first initial sound of popping tabs. I was wondering if you think it'd be possible to convert the screws to D rings? As for coolant, have you considered distilled? My buddy and I ran RO/DI to be specific for our track days. Bikes ran great during 90 to 100° sessions.

Right on! I was very nervous the first time I took off the fairings and the lack of info online and somewhat vague directions in the manual, so im happy I helped! (and also that I didnt break anything the first time I figured it out. lol) Ive read running distilled does a solid job cooling but usually opt for the track safe mixes w/ the special sauce additives. I have never performed and A/B test to see if one cools more effectively than the other but Water Wetter has never let me down. Engine Ice is another Ive heard good things from...
@MotoMadness66
@MotoMadness66 2 ай бұрын
@McBurly fortune favors the bold hahaha. When I realized nothing broke I also realized I wasn't breathing 🤣 I couldn't recommend it enough fo distilled. We were showing 170 to 185 temps on track and 190 to 200 at idle. He was running his RSV4RF with their flash and I was running a stage 1 BT on my S1KRR. We're both a little hesitant on water wetter and engine ice. His MV F4 was gunking up on him with engine ice, but if you're running great on the secret sauce then it's a win. We just feel it's just safer all around and takes the second guessing out of the equation.
