This was one of my ex's favorite scenes, he really wanted me to watch it. He passed away so it's really heartbreaking watching this again, but very symbolic at the same time.

He's written differently, and much more sympathetically, than he is in the book. A very likable and relatable character, even when he's being a jerk.

I hated him at the beginning. and then he and his life journey turn my life upside down. I still morn for him HEAVILY

I hated the monsters. They were both just overpowered and annoying.

I love how even when he had a chance to bring a King. He still allowed some fairness by using a queen. Ik it's also because of Alice's face but I like to read it as him giving his opponent some fair play

I like the fact that they appear to have been polyamorous or at least poly-adjacent.

This was cool until they started singing. Unless its a musical episode then I retrack this statement.

My only qualm was that she didn't even ask for a boon in exchange, or a guarantee of punishment for Reynard. No negotiations when she had the leverage and when she'd invested many people's lives into this goal.
