Yes, just asked one of the experts. You need to file the Flight Plan through Simbrief which is free of course if you have navigraph. It’s also now incorporated into MSFS.

@@jackwhiting3587 thanks I think the frequency may have been changed now, but not 100% sure. I hadn’t been there much but since I added the VRPs I have been there quite a lot beautiful. I added the Clifton suspension bridge I found on Flightsim.to as well.

Hi Mike thanks for watching and for the Sub. There are no real rules for SI as they are keen to stress it 'does not run on rails' just ask what you want to do the AI works really well. There is standard format for RT though such as Who you want to speak to - who are you - what to you want or want to do. E.G. Denham radio GBSDP request Aerodrome details or Request Departure. You can look up more standard RT on Google such as what to say on landing. But generally you can say most stuff just no terrorist stuff or profanities etc etc. Great you are using BBD I love them and like you I am 99% GA VFR. I would suggest you also join the Discord as there are lots more experts on there if you have any problems.

@@mikeallen789 Its fine, There are standard prompts now for all Air ground stations but I add in the custom prompts to personalise them with VRPs towns nearby masts and parking locations or where Avgas is you can ask for most of these when you are on frequency.

I am almost sure the answer to both is yes but I will confirm for you. You can ask for a departure from the mid point or a certain hold midway down the runway now. VFR lanes are already in use in the USA so I would think it would be possible to implement here as well. But will get back to you.

Just confirmed the Midpoint departure, I asked "N5MR holding at HX and request a departure from the midpoint here" and got "Runway 09, winds 140 at 7, cleared for takeoff." No acknowledgment of the midpoint but it was OK. The exciting news is that hopefully I will be able to help get the VFR corridor installed soon at Aberdeen, I asked today and the Team are amazing at SI, they responded immediately and we are working on it. I will let you know when it is implemented..

@@atcmikerthere are 3 documented VFR lanes in Aberdeen, but there’s also a forth lane you can request that’s not on the charts. I’d be happy to help with the other quirks too. If I subscribe to SI can we send them aerodrome info?

⁠ Do you know if Aberdeen identify and allocate a squawk to aircraft in the lanes. Or are they just reporting points and I.e gbxxx entering VFR east at 1500ft etc

@@atcmikeryes, Squawk codes are given for departure and zone entry.

Its very basic, just what you see in the clip and also a HOTAS Saitek X56. I have a powered USB Hub (essential) for all the peripherals FIPs, Class Echo etc. 2 monitors 4K for my main screen and a standard HD for Nav charts etc. That's about it really. My PC is middle of the road AMD Ryzen 7 5800, 32GB Ram TUF Gaming X570 Plus MB and a RTX 3070ti GPU.. Hope it helps and thanks for the comments..

Just added some VRPs for Bristol Avon Bridge, Cheddar Gorge Radstock East Nailsea etc, In and out guessing a bit, but got the information from online, have a flight in or out and see what you think. If you join the Discord Channel for SI you can DM me from there with any changes you want.

@@briancrawley8440 nothing triggers it just talk on the Gamston freq 130.48. I added some VRPs such as Thorsby Lake, Gainsborough Clumber Interchange. Just say overhead any of these and see what you get back. Or ask where to park when you land.

I am keen to add as much realism as I can to the VFR part of SI in the UK as its all I do. If there is anything wrong with Gamston then let me know. You may get the odd cleared for take off nothing I can do about that at the moment though.

Good question! At the time I made the clip SI was not recognising read backs basically you could say anything. Now they have implemented read back and it will correct you if you make a mistake. Maybe I should do a video on it hmmm. Thanks for the comment though.

It is a work in progress. If you are subscribed you can select the experimental server and it works 60-70% of the time.

😂 no we generally get shouted at especially at an Air Ground aerodrome. If you ping controlled airspace then you get an MOR mandatory occurrence report filed normally by email based on your reg. Good question though..

Hi Artur, I dont use a weather app as I found i lost quite a few Fps on my system. I create my fave conditions on MSFS and save it. So for this flight after departure i changed to my VFR and a few clouds. I think this is why on return I landed on 24 as the wind was set to 230/4. Thanks for the sub ❤

Thanks for the comments, 100% agree. But they are working on it. Bembridge is A/G and works much better. So i am hoping that its just a glitch for Denham and its fixed soon. Appreciate your time to comment though. I will be posting more content soon. Hopefully, it might have improved by then..

Hi Mark thanks for the comment, yes,there are no problems asking the AI in fact you can ask almost anything and it will try and answer you, when the cafe opens, how long us the runway, where to pay landing fees etc. I am just hoping it gets it right off the bat. Bembridge is much better Air Ground example weirdly though Denham does not operate the same. I think Brian and his team are looking into it. Still work in progress at the mo.

I doubt you'll get clearances at Denham, it's uncontrolled and all pilot's discretion. Have you tried what happens if you tell FSS what you are about to do, without asking for permission?

@@BertZengerink Hi Bert I should know I work there, I hadn't realised I had asked for permission, I might have said ready for departure that is not asking permission just a statement. If I did, maybe it was trying to force an answer of some sort out of SI. But you are correct I give no instructions out a an AGCS aerodrome in the UK, information only. Such as wind direction and other traffic information pertinent to the flight.. Hope this answers your question.

@@atcmiker So we're colleagues ;-) I work behind the radio at EHTW. Just like Denham it's uncontrolled and like you I only give information about runway in use and some basic weather info (QNH, wind). When I found your video I was kind of hoping to find out how SI handles an uncontrolled airfield; but it behaves like Denham FSS is a tower, which it is not... Maybe it responds to the way you communicate (you 'requested' taxi) and you mentioned 'ready for departure' which triggered SI to give you a clearance. How does SI respond when you only state intentions and ask for information? Like 'N317BK, VFR flight, one POB, request aerodrome information' and from then on only state intentions like 'taxiing to holding point rwy 24', lining up and departing rwy 24' etc.

@@BertZengerink I have tried Bembridge on the Isle of Wight which is also air ground and using the same phraseology there gets you " I am only air ground and not able to give taxi instructions" so it seems to work at some aerodromes but no others. Hoping it gets fixed and I keep prompting them to add in the two VRPs for Denham. Hoping one day. Great to have a fellow Radio operator on here though.. You are close to one of my old postings in the RAF when I was at RAF Nordhorn Bombing range back in 1990. My wife and I used to go shopping in Enschede..

Hi Darren thanks for the comment. Brian and his Team are working on it. The whole thing is a work in progress bit like BATC. I ask for a basic service in the uk and get identified, but normally have to ask to change to my destination this is VFR. IFR is getting better but dont use it much.

I still like how i am able to talk and almost say anything and it is understood though. The team and working hard to make it work and I am hanging in there with them for the moment..

@@atcmiker Piper Comanche, you got it right in the first 20 seconds, but wrong later. Must be the stress of talking on the radio! Your Video is better than I can do, no complaints there. SI is the idea tool to teach good RT, sadley lacking IRL. Otherwise they will have to amend CAP413 for UK proceedures 🙂 Worth downloading a copy if you fly in the UK.

Hardly fly IRL, work as air ground at Denham though so have some knowledge of CAP413 😆

Apologies, I meant ChatGPT which is an AI backend to the sayintentions ATC. It is a well know AI service, anyone can use. I just wanted to say there almost no delay when you query ChatGPT. It can generate a complex c++ code for you very quickly , but getting instructions from sayintentions take 10-15 seconds for some unknown reason.

how do you use chatgtp for msfs?

@@argi_dem hey, my comment is pretty old. I did not understand the SayIntentions work fully then. I compared only my experience with ChatGPT as a service for getting response to my query. SayIntentions use multiple AI tools chained together to work effectively as ATC. The response time of SayIntentions decreased hugely recently thanks to multiple optimizations and the use of CHATGPT 4o. Sorry for confusion. You can safely ignore my previous message.
