I didnt want to make lots of update idea videos until I felt like Hello Games had enough of a grace period around the release of Frontiers. I've been waiting for them to fix stuff. I have collected lots of examples of broken and annoying and badly implemented features (mainly around the new base building). Again cuz I didnt want to be too harsh to them I have been waiting to see if there will be fixes but its been like over a month now. So.. I guess I will have to make my Update critique.. with out the happy "but they fixed it" at the end. Actually the options colour feature was better before the hotfix. Crazy Ty for watching this one.

Awesome video. So many people talk about changes to the game's visuals, which are important. However many do not go into detail over the NMS's gameplay. Combat is really lacking in this game, in all aspects. I believe that the game needs an AI bump. This could help make creatures, sentinels and ship combat more challenging, without becoming completely unfair. The second thing that this game needs (and as you've pointed out in this video) is that combat needs to be rebalanced. Personally, I believe that HG needs to hire a few people that specialize in maintaining balance in combat mechanics and overall gameplay loops. I think that the team is great at creating interesting worlds, as each year the world become more complex and interesting. However the same cannot be said about its gameplay. As matter of fact, there is at least one aspect that has devolved since the updates and that's creature interactions when they become hostile. Now, if you're being attacked, all you need in a bit of carbon and you can tame any creature easily. At least before, when they introduced taming creatures with food, you had to craft specific food for the creatures, because they didn't all eat the same things. Anyway, I truly believe that they need to hire some gameplay balance individuals to the team. As you've already mentioned, there are some simple tweaks that could make a world of difference in making combat, and by extention, exploration more engaging. BTW, I would I have some ideas to improve the hazard protection system. There should be times where your hazard protection can malfunction. For instance, getting struck by lightning should cause all of your hazard protection to malfunction, for a good while, and leave you vulnerable to the elements. Exploding plants can shoot out toxins that can impair your vision for a time. Getting caught in a torndao can your distrupt your jetpack. Landing too hard on the ground can prevent you from running for a while. Going to deep underwater (they would have to add really deep oceans) can kill your life support. Keep the videos coming.

Wow ty for the comment. It's nice to see other people who rant for ever. And yes I agree that the worlds are mostly nicer and stuff. And I also agree a general difficulty rebalance would be so good. I love NMS but sometimes it feels like a walking simulator with extra steps, and the lack of adversity actually doesn't help bring people together for Multiplayer as no one actually needs any help with anything. Like, people group up in Monster Hunter and Darksouls which can be played single player, because its easier to do some things together. The only reason ppl team up in NMS is to do a Nexus Mission and its so rare anyone even says hi to each other. I have only ever partied up with three ppl in this game. One was a guy I met on reddit who liked a planet I shared, another was a guy in the Nexus who was new and looking for friends I guess cuz he took the oppertunity to add me when I was chatting alone in Nexus, and the last person was an IRL friend. Hundreds of hours in this game, but yeah so rare to meet ppl despite there being the Nexus.

@@KodiSky Exactly. I get that some people want a chill experience, but NMS was always been sold as a game with multiple gameplay features and both combat and survival were big aspects of it. I believe that HG has already set up a system that can serve both kinds of players and those in between. With more tweaking, they could make it even better. There are already peaceful star systems and star systems at war. Perhaps there could be tiers for both kind of systems. Where someone looking for a peaceful system, with little very little opposition could stick to those systems and keep there chill experience. Perhaps some of those systems have more planets that don't require much Hazzard protection. Then, on the opposite end, there could be war torn systems that are increasingly inhospitable to the player. Way more unprovoked sentile attacks, creature attacks, pirate attacks, storms, newer npcs that attack on land, hazzard protection disruption etc. These systems, however, would have way better resources and missions. Then you can have systems that are more balanced for people that want more engagement without too much challenge. The universe is big enough for all kinds of players.
