Read your post on Trawler Forum about getting the wrong motor (15hp) first, but something is off about the speed your got. 19.5mph/17knots with a 15hp is way to slow. I have the same setup, just my motor was limited to 10hp when I got it(can get the same motor as 10/15/20hp i Norway) 10hp is just a 15hp limited by a metal bracket stopping you from reaching full throttle. I got pretty much same speed as you with only 10hp, me & my youngest son me 200+lbs him 60lbs. After removing the limiting bracket making it a 15hp it does +/-20knot or 23mph with same load. Just changed the ECU & removed restrictor in inlet making it 20hp, but not yet tested it, but very surpriced if it do not reach 25knots/29mph

After your video, I bought the Mercury 20hp EFI. I have a similar sized infaltable, My wife and I have had the best lockdown ever. This engine is great. Great speed, fast on the plane, fantastic fuel economy!!

We are thinking ordering the same dinghy and engine. Do you have the long shaft or short? If short, any issues with cavitation?

Wow! That’s awesome. I am planning on getting a new boat, the highfield 340 and a 15 horse 4 stroke merc in a year or 2, i have a roughneck 360 with a 6 horse 4 stroke merc right now. The problem is that my boat is not in the best condition and i need to empty it with water all the time. Even when theres a waterproof blanket on it. The boat is fine, but the engine is to low for the standards of the boat. I am 13 right now, and planning to get a 340 highfield classic and 15 horse 4 stroke merc in the summer of 2022

Thank you very much for filming the mounting part of the motor. I would actually have to do it everyday I go to my boat. It's heavy, but as I can see it is bearable to be carried.
