Thank you sir - appreciate the video! I bought a used 2020 RAM 2500 w/Cummins Diesel about six months ago and don't use it much, but I've been getting that same low engine coolant warning light since I bought this truck. It goes off after driving a few minutes, once it warms up, so I figured it isn't THAT low. However, better to replenish now. Just wanted to add that the Owner's Manual calls for use of an "Organic Additive Technology (OAT) engine coolant conforming to FCA Material Standard MS.90032." Not sure whether the Mopar recommended brand is more expensive, but whatever is used should meet that standard. Use of anything else, including a hybrid coolant (e.g., in an emergency), could clog the radiator. Anyway, thanks again - much appreciated!

@ijo58transportllc513 ай бұрын
I really think that depends on the broker. I got my first load as soon as I was up and ready to hit the road, which was about a month after I got my authority. However, I did encounter one, maybe two that said they only work with 6-12mo authority. That was no problem at all. There are so many brokers out there that as soon as one turn you down call the next. Just remember who turned you down so that you won't be calling the same broker over and over again. What was the outcome with the broken axle? Did PJ Trailers do right by you?
@ijo58transportllc513 ай бұрын
@@lionround - Absolutely! Normally I don’t fill out warranty paperwork. I just assume it’s a waste of time and I shouldn’t need it anyway, after all, it’s a new trailer. However, on the final day to fill out the paperwork for the warranty I changed my mind and filled it out. So, when the axle broke I called the company (PJ) and they had my trailer towed from where it broke down to a trailer repair-shop for repairs. The cost was astronomical and PJ paid it all. However, I wasn’t given a loaner trailer for the time my trailer was being repaired, but, they did offer to permit me to rent one for that period of time. I didn’t take them up on the offer. At any rate, I was more than satisfied with their response to getting my trailer fixed. I’m so glad that I completed and sent in my warranty paperwork. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I don't see how you were overweight. The 20k lbs you are talking about is axle weight. There is no way your rear axle had 20k lbs on it. Your cargo was 7500 lbs round it up to 8000 lbs. Assume your trailer weighs 12,000 lbs and your truck weighs 6,000 lbs. This all totals to 26,000 lbs. You have 4 axles so just a first approximation is 26,000 lbs/4 axles = 6,500 lbs/axle. The actual weight per axle will be a little higher or lower due to weight distribution of all components relative to axles. But for Arizona you're allowed up to 20k for axle. You were more than legal.
@ijo58transportllc513 ай бұрын
Good observation and you are correct! There was one important piece of information that was left out. My trailer is "de-rated" to GVWR-12k and the empty weight is 8.4k - my truck's GVWR-14k and the empty weight is 8.5k. DOT use the GVWR listed on the U.S. Federal Certification Label on the truck and GVWR listed on the U.S. Federal Certification Label on the trailer [combined] to determine compliance with the 26k Non-CDL weight restriction. In this case the two labels combined is 26k. However, they also refer to the vehicle registration for "Carrying Capacity". The carrying weight is the difference between the "actual" weight and the GVWR of both the truck and trailer. So, in this case it was the carrying capacity that was over.
@megasmoothoneАй бұрын
@@ijo58transportllc51 How can it be over? If your truck's actual weight is 8.5k plus the weight of the SUV is let's say 8k then that leaves you 9.5 k for trailer weight. Does your trailer weigh more than 9.5k? the only other way it could be over is it the SUV was over your rated axle weight but your axle rating is 12k so that is good.
@ijo58transportllc51Ай бұрын
@@megasmoothone - The normal way of calculating weight changes once a trailer has been “De-Rated”. Once “De-Rated” the trailer’s registration documents will stipulate the “Carrying Capacity”. It’s the “Carrying Capacity” that takes precedence going forward.

I buy my DEF at Tractor supply store. I usually get the Blue or Blue Platinum. The platinum has a 3rd Ingredient in it. I don't know what the 3rd ingredient does. I assume it helps keep the system clean and prevent problems but I don't know for sure. My Momma also told me never assume anything. Sometimes I get their Travelers brand too. For the price it can't be beat. I like buying the jugs better than filling the DEF tank at the pump at truck stops. The truck stops are a little cheaper but also so messy and gross. The last time I got DEF at the truck stop I was standing in a puddle of diesel fuel. I usually buy 3 or 4 jugs at a time. 1 jug last me 2 weeks. I wait for the gage to get to 1/2 then a whole jugs fills it up perfectly. Don't over fill it though. I made that mistake once and it almost put the truck in limp mode. The DEF tank is a 5 gallon tank and it needs some breathing air at the top. If you over fill it then the tank can't breath and it puts the truck in limp mode. And I never let the gage get below 1/2 a tank, especially if it's cold outside. The system can freeze and go into limp mode. These emission systems are finicky so I try to never let it get below half a tank.

I ordered some Mopar 50/50 coolant from Amazon too. This is my first diesel and I wasn't sure if it needed "Diesel coolant" or if it's all the same. The I/C was confusing to me, I've never heard of that before. I looked it up and it stands for Ispezionare Coolant. I also wasn't positive which reservoir to pour the coolant into.
