Ajahn Jayanto is a great teacher. Ive stayed at his monastery. He is a good example of what a Buddhist monk should be. A very kind and compassionated bhikku and he follows vinya. Something most "monks" dont do today. In many Manhayanna and in some Theravada sects monks either collectively ignore the monastic rules or they believe it should no longer be used. For instance Zen monks do not follow the monastic rules of the buddha. Its an essential part of the profession and Ajahn Jayanto and his monastery observe the rules to the T and so do most Ajahn Chah branch monasteries. This is very important to me. Particularly because of the rule that monks cannot use money. This eliminates the possibility of corruption and other nonsense. Monks arent even allowed to touch money and staying at Ajahn Jayntos monastery is free of charge meanwhile many of the famous Zen monasteries make you pay insane amounts of money to stay, At the Zen monastery in upstate NewYork it costs hundreds of dollars a month. More then basic rent is in modern apartments. This goes totally against the teachings of the historical Buddha and its simply taking advantage of those who want to learn the teachings and sadly the people who are new to this dont understand this. Most dont understand the differences between these sects. Ive encountered lots of ignorant lay people who think just because someone is in a robe and calling themselves a monk that they deserve some kind of special treatment.. Dont ever give money to a monk if they ask for it. Like all those fake monks running around NYC. They are simply taking advantage of the kindness of others in a very deceptive and sacrilegious way. If one of them approches you for money, ask them why they arent following vinya. Ask them their sect, tradition and lineage and ask them why they are accepting money when it goes against buddhist teachings.

Dear parents, don’t show it your children Buddha is not God Better show them a cartoon about Jesus Christ Peace to you
This is beyond awesome, this is the life of the Buddha, and let’s listen to the teachings of the Buddhas and Buddhism. And just like the Buddha taught us we should listen and think together rather than just being brainwashed (which leads to ignorance). Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu (Well done, Well done, Well done)

It’s a very respectful way of addressing a Buddhist monk in Thai according to my understanding. (I am a Sri Lankan- American) It means “my dear venerable teacher who is just as a mother, a father to me.”

After few days of anapana, ones mind become sharp to observe vedana. Shall we watch or give attention to different Vedana or sensations appearing on the body? or we should ignore it and keep looking at breathing till the mind reaches Vikhamman samadhi or concious left with only concentration. kindly reply as I am confused now.
