Does langan park have good spots to bank fish ? I’ve tried many times now over this month with no luck ?

Not really. But if you drive over to the South Alabama campus they have a nice pond with a pier and some nice places to fish for crappie.

Ah yes the old “um actually the people I like were the ones who were attacked for absolutely no reason.” Random acts of violence are typically pretty rare among people, rarer among large groups, and rarer still among trained men. If someone tells me “we did nothing wrong and they attacked us” I know you’re leaving something out.

Oh the reason was that these Creek had gotten new guns. The Militia didn't want them to have them but also had no authority to take them away. As often happened back then they didn't care what the law said because they felt, incorrectly, that it didn't apply to Natives.

For the record, 18th Century men didn't care for Jackson's exploits either as Davy Crockett severed his ties with Jackson over his treatment of indigenous people proclaiming on the floor of the House, "You can all go to hell! I'm going to Texas!" The Supreme Court struck down the Indian Relocation Act via Worcester v. Georgia as unconstitutional but Jackson committed treason when he carried it out anyway saying, ”John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!”

I don't remember this tragic event. Many train incidents go unnoticed by the public or they are under-reported by the media. With a quick internet search, I found these tid bits... The United States experiences an average of three train derailments per day. In 2021, 5,735 people were injured in train accidents, and in 2022, 6,252 people were injured in train accidents. In 2021, 901 people died in train accidents, and in 2023, more than 600 people died in train accidents. I wouldn't have ever known about the incident in this video without this post. And it was pure luck seeing it. Also, who starts their day looking for recent train wrecks? Nobody! The media needs to step it up!

Ever look up how dangerous rail travel was in the 1800's? Head-on collisions were a weekly event for a good part of the 19th century.

Did you know one of the showers in one the sleeping cars had a leak and they stopped on Houston or San Antonio. And had that not happened the train would have been on time and not crashed

Yeah, I read that. There's so much more to this story. I'm planning a full length video in the future including taking a boat ride out to the crash site. I've been through before, there's a historical market there. My best friend was part of rescue and recovery and to this day it's the only part of his law enforcement career he doesn't like to talk about.
