I know this video dates back a few years but I'm following your design. The question I have is that you say you use a PG5 stepper (gear ratio 5:1), but in the video and the link, it's a PG27 (gear ratio 27). I see from the project documentation that both can be used but which one did you actually use and why?

Whats the maths behind the 0.245a? Your motor is a 0.4a and you set the stepper up at 0.245. I’m kinda confused 🤔

i cannot find this version of the code anymore. the one available now is just the complete version. Any possibility of getting the older version so i can follow the video as is. The latest version i think requires a special PCB.

Hi Did you manage to work out what files to download? Im planning on building this and just realised the file isn't available anymore!

Gracias

Excellent video. Never tried arduino. I'll give it a try💪

Why not just use an Arduino Uno with a stepper motor shield and a single DRV8825 board? A little more money but you eliminate all of that nasty wiring. BTW, I am looking for a similar tutorial for the Arduino and a ULN2003 board have you seen this anywhere? I need to use a unipolar stepper because it fits in the dedicated focuser that I 3D printed for my Orion ED80T-CF refractor. BTW, invest in a heat shrink tubing kit. Inexpensive, safer and cleaner.

What are the stepper motor connectors called?

For anyone looking for those 2-pin screw-together power connectors, they're typically called aviation connectors.

Thank you. This project is so fragmented with so many versions and ways to build it, people is reluctant to try it. I couldn't figure out where to start and follow until I found your video. I just saved hundreds of dollars on silly motorized focuser technology 😁 THANKS!

Hi Astro Just after a bit of help or advice my duiamilanova board connects to myprofocuser 2 and Ascom and APT they all come and say connected but when I put a number steps the stepper does not move I have done the continuity test for pairs of wires and all ok. Just wondered if you may have any ideas. cheers John

Is it possible to install the motor on the focuser shaft without the planetary gearbox?
