Its interesting after playing in bands for 50 yrs ive seen a few women drummers but more often women tend to be singers and guitar players. Theres a lot mo now than when i started. I saw an amazing 15yr old girl drkummer from Asia.really fun watching her play as she was a very animated drummer. A good show. Then theres yoko. Good god. Aint no excuse for that

I don't know that reference, but I'll look it up! I call it the "KingKong" beat on the cowbell.

Kick ass!! One of my biggest personal gauges of talent as a drummer has always been "but can you play reggae/ska??". Although I don't care a whole lot for ska or reggae, at least in a traditional sense, a couple of my favorite bands to practice drums to are The Police and 311. You don't have to like the style to appreciate it wholeheartedly

Proof positive that cowbells, wood blocks & timbales on a rock & roll drum kit aren't dead! Can you tell us some more about the overall gig and the venue? Rock on!!!

Yes! This show was performed at Aeolian Hall in London Ontario Canada, the Music of Woodstock 1969! The drum solo was part of Soul Sacrifice by Santana! Thanks for your interest!

The combination with singles and doubles fits really nicely with the track! Playing along just now, I'd say the sticking mainly used is: "RlRR lRRl rLrL LrLL". I hope I got it right hahaha.

That transition is very good! Usually when ending slow songs it's the other way around (4/4 to 12/8) just for that quintessential blues style, yet I think flipping both time signatures is quite tasteful too. Enjoying the groove, enjoying your technique, and enjoying that YT recommended me this video all of the sudden! Great work!

There’s so very much wrapped up in that short tutorial. An alternating six and seven stroke accented roll, then incorporating the kick into the seven stroke and orchestrating it across the toms! I’ve seen this done by many drummers, but I have never been able to break down what it was they were doing. You have broken it down perfectly here. I can see it perfectly. I went to the pad and it just popped right out! Great, great tutorial!👍
