What do you think about using a ring binder clip (100 for $8) as a floss drop and put them on a steel cable loop in numerical order? Then you can insert a new color without having to shift each color down one. And, it takes up much less storage space. You can use packing take to secure the number on the ring or buy electric cable labeling tags to write the number on.

I never saw those huge Hanks just the small ones

If you have hundreds of colors it could take up an entire closet!

What are you doing with your threads after your work ? it's an inconvenient for the storage

This system is ok for threads supplied in kits where you don’t know the brand or number, otherwise you will be stuck when it comes to buying more of the same.

I just bought Annie's Keepers. Same sort of thing...but much more versatile and you can stick stickers on it with symbol etc. If you don't want to pay the money...your organizer is a good way.
