A little backstory! The Helicopter was the first unit OnScene to advise of the fire. The reason the helicopter was up in that area was due to a water rescue along the American River that they were just clearing which tied up multiple units that normally would respond in this area. The first priority was evacuations that's why you see way more Police than fire units in the beginning especially because the engines had to respond from further away. this was a fast-moving spotty fire that spread quickly and spotted in multiple different locations. The first report from the copter of currently 5 acres with the potential to grow up to 300+acres with moderate to dangerous rate of spread which prompted an immediate request to calfire for air attack and additional ground support!

I know these guys are the best at wildland fires just because of the sheer number of fires they get but I was surprised to not see more engines and brush trucks heading in there for exposure protection in advance of the header making it to that property, from the video it looks like only Sheriff and Police units were on the property in advance of its arrival as well as the airdrops of course.
