Amazing video! You really showed the beauty of the game's mechanics, just so satisfying to see the fame being played like that. I finally bought the game with 10th Anni Bundle with Bayo 1, since I wanted to play both games. Finished my first playthrough today, on Hard, and I can't to jump back in again. I'll probably do another playthrough on Hard to test some other weapons and to get an even better feel for the game. Then on to the Challenges and God Hard.

Try angled slides. The slide's sideways movement and forward movement are independant, as you will always move forward just as fast even when moving sideways as well. Start the slide at a 45° angle, let go of the side input and you'll be travelling at v^2 = forward-v^2 + sideways-v^2.
@ZikosRealm26 күн бұрын
Yeah that tech is commonly referred to as ''drift slide'' or ''drift boost'' by the playerbase. There are short drift slides throughout this clip but was more concerned with precise aiming and the ability to quickly swap weapons on the fly instead of focussing on speed. Drift slide requires keeping both thumbs on the sticks to maintain forward momentum so it affects movement and pre-aiming efficiency, and makes quick weapon swaps and reload cancels impossible to do with standard controllers and button layout. ✌
@Ze_N00B26 күн бұрын
@@ZikosRealm It works excellently on KB+M, if that matters. There, swapping weapons, drift sliding and other tech is actually easier.

I reinstalled Vanquish about a week ago and finally took the plunge on completing God Hard. I didn't know any advanced tech, and at several points could swear it was truly impossible...but I persevered. All of this to say that I absolutely love this game, and have no idea how you're pulling off any of these feats. Thanks not only for the spectacle, but the additional reminder that others really do care about this game as much as I do! I'm always hoping for a spiritual successor, someday, sometime.
@ZikosRealmАй бұрын
Congrats man, that's no easy feat. Some sections can be quite the struggle even when using every trick in the book. If you're ever interested in learning more and getting more mileage out of the game, there's a Vanquish tutorial playlist on my channel that covers all consistently recreatable tricks and techniques. Yeah a spiritual successor from the same development team would be the dream. Guess we'll never know what the future holds. Thanks for sharing your message and have a good one! 🙏✌

As a pretty middling gamer, watching your record runs is actually really helpful for picking up tactics to clear these myself. Thanks! About to do Challenge 6 and dreading it, lol
@ZikosRealmАй бұрын
Cool to hear you learned a thing or two! Yeah picking up on basic tactics and routing, safe spots, which weapons to use against which enemy etc. can go a long way. Challenge 6 is difficult for many beginners and experienced players alike. Spent quite some time on my first completion too. I think spending a little time to learn some of the speedrun strategies for that challenge in particular can end up saving a lot of total playtime and frustration in the end, especially for people who struggle or don't necessarily enjoy the thrill of the challenge itself. Can also recommend to use level select to practice against certain bosses to get more comfortable when eventually facing them in the challenge. Thanks man and happy to help whenever! 🙏
@soundthatyoucansee123Ай бұрын
@@ZikosRealmabsolutely. For Trial 6, without the routing and safe spots from your vid I probably would have quit from frustration. Your speedrun strats for the 6-3 LFE(?) romanov push and explode, optimal grenade usage, and group kill strats were lifesavers. It's amazing how incredibly useful the energy gun is when I barely touched it in the campaign lol. Took me dozens of tries, probably 12-ish hours but eventually something clicked and the enemies just felt...slower than they used to. It was a really cool moment of growth for me and not long after I beat T6 and nabbed the platinum. Clear time was still like ~8 minutes lol. Anyways, game is a goddamn rush and it's crazy how easy you make it look. I wish Platinum would make a sequel to this and another game like MGSR:Rev
@ZikosRealmАй бұрын
@@soundthatyoucansee123 Heey congrats man! 12 hours to beat, with a first clear time of 8 minutes is really damn solid, well played! Beating it for the first time back in 2010 will always remain as one of my fondest gaming memories. The intensity, build-up and it's release has stuck with me 'till this day lol. Think my first clear back then was around 15 minutes without using guides or tutorials. Yeah the LFE Gun is def the most versatile 'utility' weapon and that round 3 safe-spot and LFE strategy is just perfect. That whole round is a variation of MoluJpn's strategy, and many of the other strats are variations of Vnichiro's methods but often with my own twist and style. Thanks for your message and have a good one man! ✌

10:44 leading the Big Missile back to the robot has got to be one of the sickest moves in gaming!! Is the double fist to the back of Crystal Viper specific to that character, how did you pull it off?
@ZikosRealm2 ай бұрын
Lol. low key one of my fave little recordings. I'm sure there's more fun to be had with that. As for the Viper, do you mean the QTE after he makes a run for Sam? We can intercept that specific attack by pressing square/X when it's prompted on-screen to trigger that scene. He can also do it while chasing you down while invisible but there's an audio cue alerting you. Keep an ear out for his footsteps and preemptively mash square/x when you hear him come running at you to counter it in the same way. That one specific attack can also be countered with shotgun melee parry instead.

Such a great game. And so underappreciated. I remember the first time I played it on 360 back when it was released. A friend recommended it. I've never seen anything like it. After the first boss which is just in the first level, I got up, turned off the console and went to get some sleep. My action-meter was full. I needed some rest to be able to play again lol Lost count how many times I finished it after that. In fact I finished it again few weeks ago. Bought the steel book edition ( the one bundled with Bayonetta ) for PS5 and said, hey, why the f*ck not? Let's do it. Still holds up. This and Bayonetta are two of my favorite games of all time. You play it beautifully. Makes me appreciate it even more. Thank you. 🔥 Edit: Hey, I remember you. You made that Vanquish - 800 hours. Dude I love that video. Subscribed.

Good stuff man thanks for sharing. Yeah it really was something else back then and its safe to say it still holds up till this day. Quickly felt like somewhat of an instant classic to me and expected more games would soon follow in it's footsteps. Any day now lol. Yeah Vanquish can be a major adrenaline rush for beginners in particular. Also remember the MGR Revengeance hype was unreal back when experiencing that for the first time. Went through the roof when that integrated OST started kicking in. Good times man. Also love Bayo and it's particular charm but only played it casually for a bit myself. Thanks and have a good one man. 🙏✌

@@ZikosRealm MGR is another one of my favorites ( of course buying that game was a no brainer for me since I love Metal Gear franchise to death, except Survive which we don't talk about ). That first battle with Ray while Rules of Nature plays... my eyes were glued to the screen and my jaw was on the floor. That era of games was so pure. They just wanted to be entertaining. I was waiting for so long for a sequel to Vanquish but that never happened. Same with MGR. Although part of me is kinda happy about that because who knows if they could top what they already did. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for keeping this game alive. Again, you play it so good like something from a cutscene. Wishing you a great time as well. 🙏

Happy 14th anniversary Vanquish fans! Was inspired by the various anniversary celebrations from other action game players and communities and wanted Vanquish and it's fans to get a piece of the pie too, so today I humbly present a big celebratory Vanquish MAD featuring some of the best soundtracks in the game. A lot of moments, transitions and sequences are designed around and dependant on music sync, but viewers on certain devices/apps/connection speeds etc. can experience audio sync issues. Hope some of those affected but interested in experiencing this MAD as intended can try other options available to them. In any case, the editing itself is still basic but was good fun thinking about and refining this project and expect to spend similar attention to details with my future montages going forward. Hope you crank your volume up and have a good one! ✌
