Holy Cow! I am looking to do a restoration for my own 1978 f150 4x4. I was planning to go with a similar Jade Green all the way around, but seeing your 2 tone is giving me second thoughts lol. Everything I have ever dreamed of doing to my truck you did in this video. I am not sure I have the knowledge or the skills to do what you did here, but my theory is if I shoot for the moon, I may end up somewhere halfway decent. Truck looks like a green turd right now so any improvement at all would feel amazing.

What amazing job

I like your work. I actually like the vehicle better with the body off. It's too beautiful to cover up and with the body off it's hundreds of pounds lighter. You must be able to feel the difference in performance.

Who was the company that made this car? I have some questions to ask, I don’t want to copy their hood, just want to make some modifications to my formula hood and raise the center to allow a performer rpm to fit under it.

I watched this, and my best additional advise/question for you for this project is you should've had ALL of your work protected by POWDER COATING instead of just spray painting (I used to do auto/body). In a relatively short time, all this restorative work will get eaten up again by more rust. I've seen alot of REALLY NICE Vega's online just recently, and I would've stripped it down like you did this one and do to it what you did to this one. Back in '76, I had a bicentennial Vega GT 4-speed hatchback from a big Chev dealership, and it was a beauty, and I personally installed a SCAT performance kit in it. The only problem I had with it was it got repoed. In my recent browsing I've found there is the Vega Cosworth, and the Vega Yenko. I think you could've done MUCH BETTER with your time, money and effort by doing some quality research. I didn't know about the above models until just in the last week (10-12-24). The rust was the pig problem with Vegas, next to the thin body metal, of which you showed in this video. Next, was the aluminum block and the lack of rings burning out. Did you make changes in these areas? Food for thought. Browse KZbin, ALOT of info there on this, inc. dealers and personal sellers that already have the work done. Personally, I would sell/trade your above Vega IMMEDIATELY when you are finished and hunt YT as I suggested. You'll be surprised at what you find.

I had more than one and had a huge accident in one! They were the thing to have in late 1960’s but time has moved on. The old lotus would be eaten alive now. I loved working on them so much space in the engine area. They did sound fantastic with custom exhaust possibly best sound from an engine I’ve heard, unfortunately the 4 pot would get slaughtered today.

Good, this is way to do, restoring entire car not only the motor as some do leaving all the rust and bad paint. Great job.

That's a pretty killer restomod!!! I think the only thing that would have made this build cooler (at least to me) is if you made the front axle driven as well, making this an AWD VW Bus. Not that being RWD takes away from this incredible build... But AWD would have been off the hook.
