Please reply My gf is on an OPT visa, she is in india its been 10.5 months since she is in india she has been working under US professor from India. 1.5 months are still left on her OPT. I am Italian and I have plans to start a trucking company in the USA through the E2 visa. Could I enter the U.S. with ESTA initially to open a company and make investments? From what I understand so far, I should leave the country to do the interview in my home country and receive the visa outside the US.

Dovresti venire con un visto ‘perspective investor’, che ti permette di passare a E2 senza uscire dagli usa, come status anziché come visto. Contro: dura due anni invece di 5, e, se esci dal paese, perde di validità , allora per rientrare ti serve il visto dall’Italia.

What are advantages and disadvantages of choosing E-2 vs. E-3 and applying under your own company? E-3 seems to not require the level of investment which seems to be a big advantage over E-2.
