Sad none of the eggs, made it tought the baby clearly need it some assistance to get out usually they pip and crack the egg it clearly got its foot in the way (it need it help) was not turn right. the incubator does work I have the same at home and hatched a few times sucessfully with it, But as other say 1 you need to rotate the egg every day a few times a day.Also worth having a second termomether hydrometer to test temp and humidity as too much humidity can drown chicks afther pip is done and too low can shrink wrap.I have assisted some of my eggs at times been hatching a few years sometimes chicks get tired and need a lil help just carfully crack egg shell leave membrane on and keep the membrane on untill NO blood vessel with fresh blood are visible.chick Usually survive and have a happy life .wish you better hatching on the future. btw sometimes egg develope slowly as well sometimes can take up to 25 days for all eggs to hatch.GL

Egg 1 and 3 are definitely not viable. You should take them out because they may explode and contaminate the viable egg.
@laboo9762 Жыл бұрын
The reason your eggs did not turn as they should was because of YOUR placement of them. The eggs should be placed long ways and with the divider close but not touching the egg. This gives it area to turn and the longways placement is because it is the natural way for it to roll. You have them placed sideways...of course they don't roll that way

I use motion sensor sprinklers. Scares everything away. They are like water canons. Bears, raccoons, skunks. No break ins or dead chickens.

For catching squirrels I put a fist sized rock on the door after it is set up so that the very fast squirrels cannot keep the door open as it comes down. I also wire a couple peanuts in the shell to the tipping plates that they have to pull on it. I have heard that broccoli attracts woodchucks. How about cheap cat food? Maybe a stick to step over onto the trigger. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Just watched your video. I have a couple of videos on here on my channel showing how I caught 16 in a month trying to get to our chickens. I use dog proof leg hold traps mostly with peanut butter as bait and marshmallows when I use the live traps like yours. You have to make sure they can’t fish the bait out from the side of the live traps...A dog proof is the ticket though.

So my question is how exactly were the racoons getting your chickens from the coop? Were they digging, did they scratch through wood, did they open the door somehow or did you have just chicken wire on the coop before the attack? I would be interested to know how you resolved your problem because simply trapping raccoons is a temporary fix but not a permanent solution to keeping it predator proof. I am building my coop like a fortress with metal panels and building a cement and thick hardware cloth buried and fanned out on the ground covered in dirt under rocks. I don't want to lose my poultry so I am interested in learning how people resolve these issues.

What Iv read is that assisted hatching isn't recommended,but it's better to try and help than to let them perish in the egg, some hatchers have helped their eggs hatch, sometimes several times, and the birds ended up fine

Always check the temp of the incubator using a separate thermometer to verify actual temp also the ventilation does not look good. I also think there are oxygen problems.

do you know how many time does the automatic rotator do ? I'm trying to hatch tiny tiny eggs and was wondering if it rotated enough for them without having to manually rotate them as they are really fragile
@theuniverse282 жыл бұрын
The incubator works, you just have to put the eggs horizontally.
@moonbeams83 Жыл бұрын
I was just thinking this to myself when I came across your comment. In which case is it better not to use the egg holder and go straight for the mesh do you think? That way the eggs can stay horizontal

Hey there! I’ve had my incubator on for a week and had put in 1 cup of water at 37.5 Celsius. The water hasn’t evaporated yet. Do you think something is wrong with the incubator?

Depends of the humidity in your area too. In south FL I add 1 ml daily as needed using a humidifier sensor.

I saw a vid last year where a duck owner tried to incubate some 30 eggs or so (using a larger incubator, of course) and ended up throwing away lots of them (dud, unfertilised, quitters). I believe incubating these eggs successfully can be tricky. Fun, but disappointing sometimes...
