Great video and scenery. Love the Current and Jack's Fork. We've floated Akers to Pulltite and Round Spring to Two Rivers but never Pulltite to Round Spring. That whole section above Two Rivers is fabulous. The spot you stopped for lunch at 27 minutes is awesome, can't wait to see it.

Thank you, and thanks for watching. The Current is a beautiful river, hoping to do Jack's Fork next season! Curious to see what the Current looks like after the latest flooding. Thanks to all who contribute to its cleanup and maintenance!

Why is your buddy hanging the brain of his pack in the middle of the front of his pack rather than on top? Whatever weight is there is pulling the pack away from his body. You generally want that weight close to your body because having it further away throws off your balance and puts extra stress and strain on your muscles as they work to compensate. He would do better to put his sandals on top, and use the brain on top to hold the sandals in place. The would bring that weight all up closer to his body. I had a pair of those Keens. They are comfy but heavy. Nice xmid. :) 41:50 Forestry Department has no funds to maintain these locations. All the funding and resources have been put into fighting fires out west and when our Arkansas Forestry staff haven't been pulled out west to help, they' are busy doing prescribed burns here to prevent wildfires in our forests. Good trip. Thanks for sharing.

We looked it up on the drive home, both were pretty curious still, and found that it is probably Wild Trifoliate.

Have you done the full Eagle Rock Loop before?
@stacylolley13 күн бұрын
@@WarrenWilderness Not Eagle Rock, but it's definitely on the list. Like you did, I've heard the counter clockwise loop is by far the best way to do it. Knock those climbs out early. Smarter not harder! Ha.
@WarrenWilderness13 күн бұрын
Yeah, it made sense to us to knock those out with fresh legs. And definitely get out there when you have a chance, we both really enjoyed it!

A few weeks ago. Which trailhead are you starting from? Which direction around the loop?

@@WarrenWilderness I am planning on starting at the Little Missouri Falls trailhead. Then go anti clockwise to the eagle rock vista. But if the rain persists I might try to go clockwise and knock the river crossings out first. Any tips and pointers?
@WarrenWilderness15 күн бұрын
Right on. Yeah, we wanted to get the ridges out of the way that first day, but if the Little Missouri River is flowing pretty good it might be difficult to cross or even continue at all. We had no issues with water crossings since it hadn't rained in quite some time. But if the water levels were high, I'd might choose to go clockwise to check out those harder water crossings earlier in the trip than towards the end. If you haven't come across it yet, here is a water gauge that many people use... waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/07360200/#parameterCode=00065&period=P7D&showMedian=false

@@WarrenWilderness 100 percent, what do you think is the max reading on the water gauge for crossing. Thanks so much.
@WarrenWilderness14 күн бұрын
I remember someone here on KZbin mentioning 4.5 feet or lower on that gauge to safely cross. But since I've only done the trail the one time with low water levels, I just can't say for sure. But do be cautious and bail if you don't feel good about it. I had an experience a couple of years ago in Gila National Forest, New Mexico where the river we had to cross 3 times had a flow rate of 10x normal readings. It was terrifying! Attempted without my pack on just to get a feel for it, almost got swept away, so we found an alternate route. Be safe, water crossings can be extremely dangerous.

The cave ends in a nice lagoon. For years we stopped just after you in a dry dead end.wonderful accoustics. A local told us about a way to go further. It was worth it and is one of my favorite spots. A lagoon,in a cave,on a river. Really cool place

That's awesome! Now I kind of wished we had tried going further. But it was getting a little unnerving being that far back and not knowing what lies ahead. Perhaps next time! Any tips on how to proceed further?
