This was the siren that I heard for the first time at the elementary school right next to it, after moving from Florida where we have no sirens whatsoever. A couple tornado sirens here and there, but it’s just not a thing in Florida unfortunately. This went off and I strictly remember mouthing to my teacher “what is that????” And it was explained to me. I lived there for 6 years and became interested in siren types etc. So cool to see the actual one that i heard for the first time in person! Literally across the street from us, so the Florida boy had NO idea what was going on lol.

It's a good thing that the cameraman and his family live in higher ground. So they're completely safe.

Wow 🤩! This is very cool! I have never seen a roof mounted, yet alone a roof mounted THUNDERBOLT that high in hawaii! Also this thunderbolt was really high pitched, reversed wired maybe? Anyway, I wanna try see this in-person (I mean the DSA because I know this siren has been replaced). Also the only roof mounted siren I have seen in-person is the yellow DSA on top of the foodland in Laie! BTW one of my fav siren videos! 😊😊😊
@Pro199103 ай бұрын
The Big Island has roof mounted DSAs too. There’s one at Police Center in Hilo it’s a 6x4 and another one in Hilo atop of the building is a 5x3

That tone sounds similarly to how the tone used for the Severn Side Sirens sound in Bristol which are also used for chemical spills.
