For the love of God, dont be driving 80mph like this thru those areas! You're playing Russian Roulette with peoples lives... Keep it sane and safe for all concerned and still have fun..

Also have a basically stock Spa AP1, and doing streets tomorrow on Hawk HP+ and Indy 500. Thankfully I’ve got a bucket seat, looks like I’m gonna have a fun time staying in my seat 😂

Nah, not lift off oversteer. Usually those occur coming out of a turn/curve or during when you lift off abruptly. I think you just dodged a .50 cal though.

nice drive! stock ap1 rotates really well and is not as snappy as some say
@TforTouge

Yeah, I was surprised actually. It's not snappy at all on stock suspension and the break-away characteristics are gradual with these Indy 500 tires.

This is basically how my dad came very close to dying and now has lifelong injuries. Lift off over steer over a cresting corner. Car snapped around and sent him into a telephone pole and then a barbed wire fence (notable, given it was in a convertible). I had never seen so much blood in my life. Drive safe.

Nice work on adding the stiff front swaybar, will help a lot. Do you have a rear wing fitted? If not, it would be well worth it.

While going over a crest too yikes, your car became weightless and you had some liftoff oversteer. Beautiful correction, you were very quick to react, well done. Would have been just about the worst car to wreck.

I actually lost my S2000 in a similar situation; I wasn't speeding and I knew the road well, but it had just stopped sprinkling and the roads were damp with some dry patches. I was coming into a downward corkscrew (to the right and then left), slowed down before the turn, the weight shifted to the front, I felt the rear get light, it hit a slick spot and snapped around, I went full lock to the left, the front lost traction and plowed through the turn into a guardrail, the rear spun 180 degrees and slid backwards across the road, sideswiping the opposite. guardrail. The previous owner had also lowered the car and I think the stiffer springs and change in suspension geometry made the car ever more twitchy and unstable. Mind you, the SUV in front of me was going faster than me and had no issues 😅 So, a combination of things struck all at once and resulted in one of the biggest heartbreaks of my life. The car was totaled and insurance didn't cover it, so I sold the car at a huge loss and have never been able to afford another S2000. At least the guy I sold it to was a collision repair specialist and completely restored the car, so hopefully it's still on the road somewhere. Every time I see an S2000 in the wild, my heart pangs.

There was a bump(crest) so you got out of control a bit. Not entirely your fault but it really is an accident magnet. Drive safe and if you want to practice that one, try rallying.

To me it looks like there's a little dip in the road before the crest. Hard to tell with the video, but that's what it looks like when you drove over it. Did you have stock suspension? Kind of surprised the car walked so much over such a little dip. Gotta keep your eyes on the road and anticipate how the road will unsettle your car, and input what the car will need as you get there, not after.

if you know the steering wheel is getting light, be careful and gentle holding it straight. Nice job in this situation, just please consider others, you are only human and can still make mistakes. Those mistakes could end up costing other people too.
