From the video, looks like the woman in front of you stepped on the brake, while still in the car wash. The rules clearly state NOT to use the brakes.

This is why I prefer car washes that have indvidual bays instead of a tunnel. The wash I go to has three automatic bays and I don't have to worry about a crashes like this.

Yep, had this happen to me at a local car wash where somehow my Audi got stuck on the track and the machine pushed the guy behind me into my car. It didnt help that the employee working didnt even speak english smh

I have yet to see an attendant at the beginning. They are usually at the end to wipe dry or there is no attendant at all. I am in Florida so I don't know if it is like that at all the drive thru washes or if it is just the ones we go to.

This happened to me. Got hit on the front and back. It was the fault of the car wash for not stopping it when someone else stopped in the front of the line. They said it wasn't their fault, lol I was in neutral. This is something that happens often at these. I refuse to go to these types of car washes now. Luckily it was covered by my insurance, but I didn't have money to file a lawsuit. This should be resolved by a law if some sort.

At the conveyor-belt car was I go to, they leave decent space between cars. But that’s also with taking to account that our area (Kitsap County, WA) always has low volume at car washes, even on nice sunny days, especially compared to California and the east coast, which I always see that they have so much higher volume on a daily basis than Washington, where I live. So in this case, they were trying to cram as many cars as they could into the tunnel, which is NEVER good. And the way they interacted with you was horrible. Never go back there again. Ever.

Yes it’s common because it happened to me when a jeep in front of me got stuck on the track because the wheels were to wide and it pulled my car into the back of the vehicle and u won’t believe this but the attendant and manager on duty wanted me to file an insurance claim against my own personal insurance company and that’s went I went off on them saying it’s their equipment that malfunctioned and negligence of the staff that wasn’t paying attention to what was going on and they ended up having to pay out thousands of dollars to the body shop

You call the police and give them the dash cam footage while having them speak with the car wash because they could and or should be held liable for this as they have all the power to stop it so it doesn’t happen you press charges against the lady and you press charges against the car wash they will learn to watch the cameras more closely

A lot of the issues are idiot drivers. A lot of them stay in Drive. Or put it in reverse. I’ve seen it all

This is so easy to avoid by a bit of redesign of the belt, just have someone there ready to stop it, or some kind of sensor that automatically stop the belt if the car at the exit haven't left the area. They are so greedy they don't think about it, and leave it to customers to sort it out. I never see something like this in my country, most people prefer hand wash or self-service pressure washer.
