You should use half double crochet, like in the video. Then the size fit.

"Cut the long strands off" is so real as a person who had sidetails (if you don't know, sidetails is like jellyfish but instead of the back of your head, your bangs are the longest part of your hair). My mother forced me to cut my strands out in two days after getting the haircut. I would and will cut it again when my hair gets long again. People said "you would be so pretty without long strands". If they think so, don't cut their hair like that.

I feel like it was a happy accident that you didn’t make the next part longer when you added the green because I like that a lot more then when others do make it longer. The longer just loose more “suffocating”, but that was very loose on your head. Very good, very nice 👍

No no no. Equal parts in volume not weight. For weight corn starch:glue is 1:2. So if corn starch is 100gm then glue needs to be 200gm.

Its 3 a.m. I got up because I was tossing, turning with so many thoughts running through my head, and just couldn't sleep. Single crochets technically uses more yarn than the half double crochets in back loop only that the op used. so not surprised you used an entire ball of yarn for a third of the hood. I think she also used a bigger hook with the hood part. You did good on improvising so im very happy you figured out a solution that worked for you. Very cute color combo

OMG, I have the same problem. LOL! I think it is because I hate turning chains, so I just do a standing stitch and that's why my increases were razor sharp pointy. This will be the 3rd time I have to frog part of this project because I'm terrible at following patterns without making modifications as I go (the struggle is real!). I think I am going to alternate my increase rows. I might do a row with the increase and then do 1-2 rows with no increase, then another row with the increase, etc. I hope it works out, I have been working on this project for so much longer than I thought it would take. Your hood turned out nice.
