Crazy I saw your video. I just retired from the army. I bought a house and some property in the woods to make a grass strip for my airplanes at my house. There was 11 cool old cars and trucks in the grass and three of these exact same dirt bikes. Property owner said they were all his brothers who had died and he didn’t want to move things out and had titles ti everything except one bike and one f100 ford truck. Anyways I messed around with one of the bikes and it fired up after the normal stuff for them sitting for years. It’s a cool bike to cruise around the property with. I ride street bikes never a dirt bike till now. And for an old beat up dirt bike it moves pretty damn good. Now I’m gonna mess with some of the cars. Couple ford mavericks and a 70 mustang. A Datsun 240z as well. Once the old guy told me he had titles for most I had no issue keeping them. They will be neat projects over the years

@ oh I had some trash as well lol. Today I dragged the old mustang out of the bushes. Changed the fluids and now cleaning the tank out. I think it’ll run the rear brakes were locked up though. It cleaned up pretty nice and surprisingly not a ton of rust.

I appreciate your effort to demonstrate this modification. I have a new old stock (NOS) 4 gallon tank that I will eventually get around to installing on my 2012 XR650L, which appears to require a similar process. Rather than knock your efforts, I applaud you for taking the time to demonstrate this process. Thumbs up.

Zum Ölfleck: entweder ist die Ölwanne undicht, oder der Dichtring der Kurbelwelle. Die Ölwanne habe ich ohne Dichtung mit Hylomar oder einem wärmefesten Silikon abgedichtet. Hält schon 38 Jahre und ist dicht. Ein weiterer Vorteil bei der Ölwanne, sie kann sich wegen der weichen Korkdichtung nicht verziehen. Das Getriebe ist in einer halben Stunde ausgebaut und der Wellendichtring schnell gewechselt. Diese alten BMWs sind total simpel aufgebaut.😊
