I was there this weekend with my mates celebrating my surprise hen party, we wore onesies all weekend haha . Fireworks were incredible , it was great

It’s gorgeous inside though. Italian marble and wood panelling. The same panelling as the Queen Mary. It would have been stunning in its time.

@@theiconicgeek Well it was a long time ago we changed over We never had a pound coin A pound was not small change in those days. The one you pointed to first A half crown = 2shillings and sixpence 2/6d. That's pounds definitely is three pence 3d. Thats a 2p is a ha'penny = half a penny. Thats a one pence is a farthing = quarter penny. I do not remember those they were even before my time LOL 5 pence is a silver three penny which is also before my time and replaced by the brass colour one. Twenty pence is a sixpence = 6d half a shilling. We had 12 pennies in a shilling 20 shillings in a pound so 240 pennies in a pound. Oddly the bigger size coins were worth less than the smaller ones in those days.
