Honestly the only ROI that made sense for my situation was buying at library book sales and my library closed for renovations… This might not be the same for your situation, it is still one of the only “time independent” almost guaranteed side hustles

No problem sulindajon! I hope this helps you in some way, let me answer your questions. Date & Location: I did this for my skus and for tracking which places are best for me to source. You do not have to do this. Bluetooth Scanner: I think this is a absolute need for sourcing and for listing items. All this tool does is act as a keyboard that reads the ISBN number. If you are using ScoutIQ and you connect it to your phone all you have to do is scan the book and ScoutIQ will show it to you without you having to manually type in the number. When you are listing items you need to type the ISBN into Amazon to tell it what book you want to sell. I connect the scanner to my computer and then I do not have to manually type in the long numbers... big time saver. The scanner is like $40 and I would not even try to do this gig without it.

There is only 1 book that I have ever been denied for so I do not even see this as a boundary. I actually never look to see if I will need approval. I just scan with scout iq, I do a minimum of $5 profit and under 1 million unless it is really high profit. You can set this up with the scout iq triggers.

Hi there Ken, It is great that you want to spend more time with your daughter and you are going to do something to get there. For me this is very much a side gig that fits into my schedule. Here is the facts.. If you can buy books that will give you decent profit you will probably sell them. It works, you send books in and as long as you price them well they will sell. Say you make $5 profit per book you need to sell 20 to get $100 or 200 to get $1000. So here is the limiting factor... can you find that many books? Where are you sourcing? For me I did not want to scan in thrift stores and since I did not NEED this to work I just stick to what has been the highest ROI and the easiest for me which is Library Book sales. If I can get out of the house early I go when it opens, the books are more expensive but they are not already picked through. I will only get books that have a really high profit during this time since I am paying by the inch for books. Then the library book sales around me do a bag sale after 1pm where I can buy a reusable back for 2 dollars and load it up. During this time I try to only get books over $5 profit and my cost per book us usually under $0.10. So, does this business work? Yes... the questions is if you can source enough books to make it worth it for you.

FBM is great and probably has its advantages. I think the real stand out here is that you do not have to touch the books again once you send them. On the down side you have to pay warehousing fees if you send books that don’t sell. For me it is about creating time independence. And if you have to be where your books are so you can send them out then you do not have some of that independence.

If it shows negative profit don’t sell the book… that means you are paying Amazon fees above what profit you are making. If the book does not sell you can have it sent back to you or if it stays too long you pay for it to sit there

First off Moon Dog, good job on what you are doing and you have a great purpose to drive you. As far as owing Amazon money, I have not heard of that... The only thing I can think of is that I think for the first couple of box shipments they can count that shipping amount against your account. It is a day later, did this clear up?

It is very easy to get accepted to sell books, in fact I know that lots of people that want to sell other items start with books to get started. As far as a revenue stream I would say it has great potential if you want to put in lots of time sourcing books or figure out a way to get books quickly. The best part for me is that I get a great ROI when I go to my local library book sale and just ship it off. I do not have to worry about it again... This is not the income that my family lives off of and I think it is possible to do that but then it is pushing into what I think is the biggest benefit of this which is the time independence.

I am not connecting to my Amazon account, I am using the scout iq database. The database is also faster and allows you to scan even if internet is bad.

Hi B, I am sorry to hear that this happened. For me when I asked about it they said that if I had receipts from wholesalers for everything that I shipped that I could start the process of reimbursement. Obviously I did not have that from yard sales...

@@FamilyManFreedom Ah same here. I guess it's something where you just take the loss and move on to the next shipment. My plan is to just send small shipments of about 10 books or so per box so there is less risk of the whole shipment getting loss. Thanks for your help!
