Enjoyed the content, subject matter and the contributors of the above. Been a long time fan of Joan, and some of her songs have really touched me and even helped me get through different times. When I've been spreading the word to others about Joan, one thing I'm aware of saying is "she is just authentic!". Friends have pushed back, asking me to define this authenticity, to which I say that I just believe every emotion that she sings and plays. I think her comments and contributions above, regards her art, just prove that she writes and performs from a real emotional place and not a formula. Thanks, very interesting. Patrick

"those who identify as women" c'mon, why have we just in a few years adopted this indoctrination as truth?

Thanks Chan. I’ve listened to the original hundreds of times and as I’m from Manchester I used to go to the Free Trade Hall as a kid and even played there in 1982 & 1985 (Irish music) so knew the full set up backstage. You’re imagination is a wonderful thing so don’t change it. I live in Ireland now and flew over for your show there doing the ‘66 show and loved it and even bought it on LP when you released it. All you’re band were outside straight after smoking I was hoping you’d come out too!

If you find some political agent who seeks POWER for the STATE, then watch for the other symptoms of fascism. If you find some agent who seeks to REDUCE the power of the STATE, then fascism is out of the question. Everyone should be quite familiar with this. Mussolini and Hitler both sought to have the state exert total control. In the case of the Reich, they even controlled stamp collecting clubs and yacht clubs. If you find someone who wants LESS GOVOERNMENT, then don't suggest they are engaged in the same track that Mussolini was on. It's just NOT POSSIBLE.

So funny, Ruth Ben-Ghiat-MoreNamesInsertHere describes the propaganda from the Kamala-Walz-Democrat campaign, the ones spewing false stuff, not Trump, who makes sense.

The fact that you put Trump in the same group as Mussolini and Hitler betrays your biases and makes everything else you have to say meaningless.
@rbourne353 ай бұрын
It's debatable if Trump rises to fascist. But if you don't see the similarities in how he demonizes people, and who he demonizes then it's your bias and ignorance that discredits what you have to say. It's not like she is speaking our of her ass. The Dr studies these things.

its wild how they ignore all Obama did to destroy democracy and that its the left telling us 1 plus 1 is 3 who is telling us there is no gender that a man in a dress is a same as a girl in a boxing match? Who is pushing for Trans people in school talking to kids? the new VP running with Kamala that campaigns with strippers believes in gender reassignment surgery for kids under 13??? Cooperation's are running things now tech multibillionaires not politicians this seems 50 years old. How many people did Obama kill??? What country did Trump invade? I am not a Trump supporter but this seem childish one sided and shortsighted. great song though.

As a fan of Denzel Curry, I gotta give you your props for actually having so much knowledge of him from other interviews, you really skipped straight over the general questions that everybody always ask, and had questions to further the knowledge for everybody else on topics he’s talked about before.

Trump will say anything , and yes they instructed him , this started with his tv show , i dont baleave he is charismatic , more like a distraction as the old party gets to business. Hitlers baleaved in every thing he was doing , he went mad in the trenches of ww 1 and reflected the desperation and sence of betrayal of the greater germatic population at that time . He was gifted as a speaker only to this population at this time ,and he was a horrible and irrational strategic leader , That is why his inner circle attempted an assassination with a bomb that killed others in the room but the blast pattern sparred him .

Cult of Personality helped a generation of poet warriors cut their teeth on punk funk and prepared the way for Rage Against the Machine's entire vibe as a band. Those of us who were trying to find our relevant voices that would shake society later on owe a massive debt to Living Color, the most underrated band of the 90's.

One thing I wish Dr. Mimi Ito would've touched on is the political soft power and major capital that Japan has had since colonizing over 20 countries in the early 1900s. The convo could've gone a lot deeper, but hey, I guess this platform's more surface level. There's a lot of Japanese culture today that was molded by the militarism and nationalism spurred up before and during WWII and that's why Japan's social culture tend to lean towards a contemporary understanding of stoicism (as opposed to classical Aurelian stoicism) but the political context of the last century has resulted in a strict discipline and intense emotional psyche that shows up in most anime protagonists to this day. There's also confucianism/collectivism from pre-colonial East-Asian culture that isn't exclusive to Japan but still in stark contrast to the more individualist cultures of the "West" - not including Indigenous and Black/African cultures which have been highly collectivistic for centuries in contrast to the cultures of European settlers.
