What an amazing voice! The first three minutes of the selection I spent trying to identify how many great musically historic influences I was hearing. On the softer passages, I heard Ella and Sarah. When it came to power, I heard Mahalia and Etta. For a vocalist, this young, to possess these powers and to select the perfect vehicle (her song) is exceptional. The lyrics were personal but they were universal for all of us. The song had to be an original. Danielle Ponder is a gift to the world!!! Thank-you, Jazz House Kids and Walker/McBride. H.
