Adoro questa musica . C'era anche nel film anonimo Veneziano . È molto melanconico ma meraviglioso. Fa sognare e riflettere sulla vita . ❤

Credo fosse un inedito trovato da Visconti! Bellissimo valzer!

Anyone out there in music land that knows the back story of this piece? Who it was written for? Im imagining it portrays the grace and miracle of the birth of Christ. There's more to be sure.

There were a number of "Christmas Concertos" by Italian Baroque composers. Corelli started the trend with his "Christmas Concerto" in G minor, Op. 6. All these concerti grossi included a pastoral movement at the end, portraying the shepherds playing a lullaby to the baby Jesus on the first Christmas eve. In Italy shepherds would come into town to play the zampogna (an Italian bagpipe) at Christmastime in imitation of the Bethlehem shepherds. This Sammartini is a particularly lovely example of the genre. There are also examples by Torelli, Manfredini, and others.

I Loove loove this theme of the film "Out of Africa", film with Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. I cry every time I see the film. This is the most beautiful theme I ever heard for a film, it goes perfect with the film which is one of my favorite films ever. The music fills my hear with love, sadness and joy all at once. I have watched this numerous times tonight. It’s very clear who stole the show. She was the only one who displayed her emotion. I don’t know why she kept on looking down. But it doesn’t matter. What amazing artists they all are but that girl to the right of the conductor blew my mind. (I used to be a musician btw)
