My 72 super beetle had cool flaps for air also. Didnt cost alot either. Junk that POS and get american muscle. Remember ford whooped on some italian cars in 60s

No it's not. There is a tube coming up from the exhaust that you can't see under that switch. Not actual exhaust, just a tube bringing warm air up from the outside of the warm exhaust

Opposite happens, carb icing causes excess fueling. Answer is pull over and let the engine run as slowly as possible, heat soak will defrost the carb. When clear drive on with as little throttle as possible.
