Tony Neal winning the John Player trophy in 1973. You can have no idea what seeing that again means to me - an ex Tony Neal fan. Somewhere on that film, stood in the crowd between the grandstand and the race officials cabin, there is a 12 year old me, tearing my tonsils shouting for Tony. I was stood with my parents. My dad also filmed this race on standard 8 cine. When the film came back from the Kodac development labs, we found that he’d accidentally used the seem reel to film our holiday later that year. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting! Is this really how early steam tractor ploughing worked? So, pulling a plough behind the tractor was a later evolution of this?
@BrokenIETАй бұрын
The idea of pulling the plough behind a tractor existed, but only in the US really. This is because the US had harder soil which could take the weight of a heavy traction engine, but most of the world had softer soil so this was the only way to do it before vehicles with internal combustion engines existed, which were a lot lighter and could therefore be used even on soft ground.

Thanks for posting this. I always find these videos hugely satisfactory to watch. I am sorry you were held up by the missing parts. I like this realistic show on the assembly.
@kenpics3 жыл бұрын
The missing parts were worrying as the purchase was from America and I was concerned there would be problems with delivery, as with the long wait for the actual Dreambox. It was resolved very quickly so I was able to continue. I hope this video is of use to others giving a true representation of an excellent product.

EXCELLENT FOOTAGE Ken! You think it's Brand Hatch (I guess it's either there or Cadwell Park due to the nature of the circuit) but what year was it please? I've spotted the 70s cars of Stu Smith; Willie Harrison and Doug Cronshaw. Never heard the song before. P.S. Spotted an advertising hoarding at 2:50 advertising 'Kentish Express' so this is obviously Brands Hatch which is in Kent. Where's 244 Jim Esau - maybe he had retired? Surely not as this can't be later than mid-late 70s. I seem to recall he didn't attend as many events as others.

@@binns515 I had most of my collection on DVDs and recently started to have problems with a few. I’ve been told home produced DVDs do not last forever and now I have had it first hand. So now all my DVDs are converted to .MP4 format and stored on a hard drive. And before anyone chips in with hard drives fail, yes I learnt that lesson years ago and now run a three copy strategy, one in the pc, one on a portable drive at home and the third on another drive well away from the house. I’ll be selling the DVDs off as a job lot very soon.

Hi Ken. I being looking into buying a dreambox and now that I watched your video........I noticed the daylight changed a few times. How long did it take you? And since you put it together by yourself, do you think....from your experience, to pay the extra $$$ to have it prebuilt might be worth it?
@kenpics4 жыл бұрын
It took me just over a week but I had a couple of hold ups.... missing instructions and some screws missing. The customer care were brilliant though and resolved the issues but I just had to wait for parts delivery. I was not working solid as I had other things to attend to during the day. Realistically it could be completed in a day, starting early or easily done leisurely over a weekend on your own. For safety they recommend two people for assembly which means completion in a day is easy. I’m in the UK and was unaware of a prebuilt option but I’m comfortable with flat pack and as it goes this one was well documented and precision made. I dont know your financial circumstances or your technical ability so can’t really advise on prebuilt but building your own does give immense satisfaction. I hope that helps and if you want to know anything else just ask.
