I am glad that she let people know that Ike was a true musician and lead the whole group even though she was upfront. "queen of soul"? Umm that would be Aretha Franklin! And especially during that time period there was no female singer that could touch Aretha.

My friend was Leon's drummer & told Leon what a big fan I was..So Leon calls me from his tour bus just to say thank me for being a fan..That's what kind of man Leon Russell was..He could be outlandish looking but he never lost his humbleness..He knew he was one of a fortunate few that make it in this buisness...RIP LEON RUSSELL.

Wow so Roy wrote songs for Buddy Holly & Jerry Lee Lewis. Also recorded 4 songs in one afternoon that became monster hits... Wow.

This interview is interesting in so many levels wow Tina talking about her perception of how her voice and the band sounds on stage, because she was such an sound perfectionist on her solo career, her last tour in 2009 won many awards regarding sound quality and vocal presence!

The song "So Fine" @7:15 was not Tina singing it, it was one of the Ikettes! people get confused because it was on Ike & TINA's 1968 album Cussin', Cryin' and Carryin' On, but there were a few tunes by the Ikettes on it! Tina's lead vocal track is "YOU'RE So Fine" from that same album! lol

Tina is actually singing on this version of "So Fine" along with Vanetta Fields or whoever from the Ikette that sang on it. The first humming your is actually Tina very obviously too. THIS version of the song is clearly Tina 😍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4PSc6tqhZaMfMk

Great interview! It’s interesting to get her perspective as a young woman. She pretty much stayed the same. She was always a class act. God Bless you Tina

I hate that Ike was so messy, and said that Tina changed her voice to sound more like "White". She's always talked the same! Great interview, but 1968 was not a good year for Tina...
