The battery on that radio is fantastic! It also has aprs and Bluetooth. Its speaker is one of the loudest and clearest speakers I've ever heard on an HT. Sweet!

How long is an application good for? Let's say K1AA will potentially be available 10 days from now and K3AB will potentially be available in 15 days, both due to expiration. I have an extra class license and I'm fine with either one so I apply now. When does the FCC consider my application and when does it expire? Thanks.

When I have a wx station on, (with Alert alarm OFF), why does this radio skip the rx broadcast every few seconds, as if it was in scan mode with a Priority channel programmed. Like it is checking the Priority channel every 2 seconds?? Aprs is off, gps off, every thing off, just rx’ing an analog wx channel ?? This has been driving me nuts, nobody seems to have an answer for it!!

@@BridgeComSystemsInc Thanks, will do!! Figured this WX issue out, kinda. It had something to do with: Menu-Settings-Radio Set-Display Func-Main Ch and Sub Ch Hide options. Not sure exactly how I had it set because I was just clicking everything on/off… testing, and when I changed something on those 2 options, some combo of them, it suddenly is not doing it any longer.
