Ironically, I just watched her in North By Northwest. Didn't know it was birthday today, I guess that's why they had that movie on tonight. What a good film! Grant, Mason et al. And the always beguiling Eva Marie Saint!!! Happy, Healthy Birthday to you!

She was missed cast in her first two appearances on Perry Mason, but was well cast in her last two, as conniving assistant thrown over by her conning boss and the suspicious wife of the murder victim and was decoyed as the murderer.

⭐ Ella Raines was a true Professionally trained Actor, she was Absolutely Beautiful, High Energy, and Authentic. Hollywood is amazingly shallow, overwhelmingly "Tripping over the Diamonds and Dollars, trying to catch the dimes". May her Soul delight in the most positive of energies, as she soars with the Stars, and may God grant her eternal happiness. ✨✨✨⭐✨✨✨

Susan Hayward was one of the great stars! When the role was right, she was exceptional. Although not playing many such roles, she was a good comedic as well as dramatic actress.

She starred in two of my most-beloved films, & my mother bore quite a strong resemblance to her in many ways. One of my favourite actresses! 🌟

Sylvia Sidney is one of the best actresses I have ever seen.....in the 1930's she played opposite the greatest male actors....and put in fantastic performances .....Her very heart showing thru her face....her tears so realistic it's hard to believe she's acting ....see her in "You Only Live Once" with Henry Fonda....and "Fury"....with Spencer Tracy...

I never got to visit an Automat.. (even tho we lived in Queens when I was a kid.. and later we lived in Philadelphia. My Dad was in the Navy and stationed there .. But ever since seeing the Automat documentary on TCM, I've been infatuated with all things H&H and the Automat. I was able to find a few pieces of Horn & Hardart tableware on eBay.. and I love seeing scenes like this one, that capture those good old days

And of course Perry Mason. Is there any older Hollywood actor who didn't appear on that show. You have to love the producers of that show.

The British Bette Davis. She was good looking but not stunning so had to rely on acting ability and good character roles. Like her best in Dead of Night and Night and the City
