For me, all under 100inch projectors make no sense. In my living and bedroom are both 150inch.... Only my little wanbo T2max on the side of my bed project to the ceiling with 80 inch. And this is only cause my wife will sleep next to me without burning her closed eyes when I put on my normal projector. For this case this little thing is perfect. But the Phillips here is also interesting. Can anyone confirm if the picture quality is still good at 120 inch?

It won't autofocus or keystone properly because you have a textured wall - its trying to focus but cant. If you use it on a screen or flat wall it will work.

RE: HDMI cable supplied with the projector doesn't work!!! I received my unit last Tuesday 17 Januari. I had tracking for the ARL screen (which arrived weeks in advance) but never had any tracking for the projector. I even contacted Philips to be sure that they didn't forget to send the projector with the screen. The unit works as intended, but the short HDMI that came in the box doesn't work. I tested it on all my devices at it does 100% nothing, not even from PC to monitor. This cause me a lot of issues when I tried to get ARC working AND I thought it was compatibility issues between the Screeneo U4 and my HermanKardon system ... which would be horrible since it costs 1000s of euro's!!! Fortunately I started testing everything AND found the culprit, the in the box supplied HDMI cable. Shame on you Philips for providing such a low quality cable with your product! --- It's a shame that the box doesn't include a padded carrying case for the projector since it's meant as a portable unit. It is possible to use the original packaging as protective case and the box comes with a fabric strap to open it up. In my opinion offering such a padded case with safe room for basic accessories would have been more relevant compared to the 80" ARL screen which doesn't seem to add a lot of value. --- The projector in a bright room doesn't have enough lumen to perform remotely acceptable. I also bought the ARL screen AND in bright rooms it makes the projection even darker; the projector performs better on a white wall than the screen under such bright conditions. However, when the room is fully dark, the screen + projector work great. I assume that you would need a 4k many thousand lumen projector to get value out of the ARL screen in bright conditions. I didn't want to remove my screen from the wall again to test, but I don't think this specific projector needs anything more than a traditional white screen or a white wall AND it probably will be brighter in bright conditions. --- The projector works well with: -) NVIDEA SHIELD pro -) micro-computer -) HDMI splitter (detects devices automatically) -) ARC-connected to my HermanKardon Soundbar and ATMOS system I'm not impressed by the automatic key stoning ... but that might be because it doesn't work well with the ARL screen. You will need to move the TV stand about 30 cm from the wall to fill the entire 80" ARL screen. --- The setup of the ARL isn't that easy and one corner I never got right (it has no real effect on the image ... but it annoys the perfectionist in me); I would recommend paying more and having a professional install a more rigid one. It was also hard to get it leveled out; there is no way to fine-adjust the screen when it hangs; also no helping tools included. You better spend a lot of time making sure the holes you drill are exactly right. Unless, like me, you want the screen high AND thus need to put the projector on a stand on the TV stand, you want the screen to hang at projector height when it's on the TV stand in the final configuration. You can adjust the keystones a bit to compensate but I would not recommend relying on that AND it is also limited. --- Connecting my HermanKardon via bluetooth worked for one session ... but the next it never worked again; this was before I discovered that the HDMI cable was not working AND I thought the ARC didn't work ... . Of course you want ARC via HDMI. After power cuts, the projector reverts to 'internal audio' and you have to put it back into ARC. Same with the other options you've changed. --- I would have liked for HDMI port 1 to be on the back of the projector as well; now it pokes out the side of the unit which is less elegant, with all the other stuff on the back. --- The sound from the inbuild speakers is good and wouldn't disappoint on its own. --- The projector doesn't seem to remember all of its settings between sessions ... but that's not a big issue ... yet ... it shouldn't happen at all! --- All in all I think this Screeneo U4 is excellent as a small portable unit and in a dark room the quality is good for the about 570 lumen I keep it at (just below the max of about 590). ------- I would only have payed the price I did via 45% off of the retail price ... I wouldn't buy it at full price, unless I wanted a portable unit. I mainly wanted it as a proof of concept before in a few years time going with a high end model. Conclusion: --- The more than 4 months delay of delivery, the fact that a faulty HDMI cable was provided and the fact that the marketed ARL screen doesn't seem to add a lot of value, makes it hard for me to ever again buy a crowdfunded device from Philips. I found it especially annoying to get offers for the new project, the U5, while not even having received the previous model! I felt as if the new one might already be arriving before the previous one is delivered ... . The projector is good for its intended uses AND in my opinion it is an excellent start into the projector home cinema world even for a fixed setup. It will never be a loss since if you ever upgrade to a multy-K, many thousands of lumens setup, you will be able to use the Screeneo U4 around the house as a portable unit. I might end up using it in the distant future in my attic with my future VR system; which is many years down the road when the short throw projectors become more advanced.

I was massively dissappointed with the ALR screen. I was back on Philips to return it and then the told me to turn it upside down! There was no mentione of a "This side is up" in the instructions. I thought it was a rididulous reqest but it worked! it now is watchable in daylight! Give that a go.

@@kristibarrow3615 Thank you for the advice, but ... there was a sticker indicating direction of the screen ... I put it the way they said I should. (It was on the back of the screen). Then again ... given the issue with the hdmi cable ... I wouldn't put it past them to have it on in the wrong way 😅

Thanks a lot for this video. I’m looking forward to getting mine before the end of the year. One of the features I was really looking forward to was the key frame correction. I heard you say it’s not great which is disappointing. Could you post a video of how it looks?

Hey, it's actually not included with the projector, I think I was just lucky as I was one of the first backers to post a review. So yes, free of charge, they just sent it :) it's a nice gesture 👍

I will try, maybe tomorrow. The projector however is not meant for too much daylight. So the image is not great

The wall is also too textured if you have the sane as this guy. With daylight it will ruin the picture quality.
