This couple makes me cringe! So passive and optimistic to the point it's nauseating! If they are going to have a couple like this, it needs to be a ruthless power couple.

Hi Silver Sculptor. I hope you can help me. I've received my first cufflinks order but cufflink fittings do not stick to the cufflink pieces I made :( I could cry. I kept the torch on for at least 20 seconds, silver went all red and I pressed it hard but it doesn't work . What am I doing wrong? I am in UK so no competition :) I am using pmc3 silver . THANK YOU

Kirsty Nixon Flynn Hi Kirsty, more than happy to help. It sounds like you’re using sterling silver cufflink mechanisms with PMC fronts? Are you using solder and flux? Do you have a pickle jar? My video is sped up, so 20 seconds may not be enough time, it’s important that the piece is heated up enough that the solder can flow. If you can give me some more information, that will be helpful. How familiar are you with soldering? Congrats on your first order! If you want to email me, please do: [email protected]

Hi can you use any printer to print the handprints onto ? Also Where does everyone buy the kit from as I have lots of different kits and prices wasn't sure what was the best place Thanks x
@silversculptor5 жыл бұрын
Paige Bird hi! The printer depends on which film you have. I get mine for the inkjet printer at photocentric / imagepac which I also where I get the stuff to make the stamp itself

Hi Silver Sculptor. What size letter stamp are you using? could you recommend which one is good to buy? thank you :)
@silversculptor6 жыл бұрын
Vesta Mitchell I use 1.5mm for these cufflinks and I just bought economy ones which I’m happy with, the letter stamps can be so expensive

HI! Thanks for this video! I have the same stampmaker kit and tried your 3-4 secs then the 3 mins however my prints keep coming out clear and then the pack around is pink which is completely different to what is in your video! I have tried several times now but each time it comes out the same.... can you help ? x
@silversculptor6 жыл бұрын
EternallyCherished Uk is the print inverted on the film (it should be clear and the background should be black). Maybe get in touch with the makers of the kit and see if they have any advice?

Hey thanks for getting back to me so quickly, yes I am printing another negative. Even when I try their template negaitive it is the revesal of (red outside and stamp clear) however when I used their template the stamp came out fine so I think it is the negative thats the issue.
@eternallycherisheduk55666 жыл бұрын
WOOOOP it was the negative (still a rveesal of colour compared to your vid weirdly) however it worked xx

Hey. I was wondering if you could help me out, please? I bought cookie shape cutters (loads of them, various sizes) for making fingerprint jewellery but they don't do a great job. I was wondering if you could let me know where you got your cutters? thank you so much :) Vesta
@silversculptor7 жыл бұрын
Vesta Mitchell in what way don’t they do a good job? I use cookie cutters and they work great! If you put some olive oil on your fingers and rub it over the cutting part, it will be easier to remove the clay. Let me know what the exact problem is and I’ll try and help!
@vestamitchell32147 жыл бұрын
this sounds like a great advice, thank you. Clay gets stuck and while trying to get it out doesn't stay in a good shape. The bit where metal is joined leaves the charm line a bit curved but I will try the oil and see if it works. Thank you so much for your advice. When I use the clay and leave the rest for re-using it gets a bit hard and not the best quality tho I store it as instructed. Do you have any tricks? :) once again thank you so much for your advise
@silversculptor7 жыл бұрын
Vesta Mitchell yes, unfortunately where the cookie cutter meets, that will happen. But just sand it down when dry using this from Rio www.riogrande.com/product/3m-wetordry-tri-m-ite-polishing-paper-400-grit/337301 with regards to it drying out, I wrap it tight in Saran Wrap and put it in an airtight container. You can rehydrate it with a spritz of water and then molding it with your fingers so the water gets to it all (if that makes sense)

Hi I am from the UK and am after some advice...I have a polymer stamp kit but can't seem to get the settings right so the stamp stands out far enough to imprint into the pmc....do you have any advice? what timings do you use?
@silversculptor7 жыл бұрын
Vickie McHugh hi! Are you using imagepac with the fluorescent light box? If so, I put it in for 3-4 secs and then turn it over for 3mins, then wash it in warm water and back in the light box submerged in water for another 3 mins. You don't need it too deep, but this usually gets it 1.5mm deep
@vickiemchugh9377 жыл бұрын
Silver Sculptor Thank you so much....I will try those settings ...Yes I have that machine!....I have tried a couple of times now and when I press stamp into clay it puts the backing on too, as if it is not raised enough.....I am new to this type of craft.....and it's my first try.....any advice would be greatly appreciated
@silversculptor7 жыл бұрын
Vickie McHugh try the 3 secs and then 3mins and see how you get on. You can just use your fingers to push the print into the pmc, that might help with the backing not getting on the pmc. Also, don't cut too close to the print, I leave a fair bit of the backing on so that the edges of the stamp don't get pushed down. Then if you have a little bit of the background on you can just sand it off when the piece is dry, before putting it in the kiln

Thank you so much!!....I tried it last night and it's perfect!!.... 😀 I really appreciate it x

Have yoy tried doing fingerprints this way also?
@silversculptor7 жыл бұрын
Alan Partridge I have, but it didn't come out too well. When you reduce the print the detail of the grooves is removed. You'd be better off using another technique for fingerprints
