The MC is right. The ability to take away a person's pain is not only difficult but highly dangerous as well. The Keepers would never teach the MC that ability at all, no matter what. Nor would it really help Anne, unless the ability could remove the curse which caused the pain, but even that is also dangerous. Also, cast the view at 2:50. There seems to be a sort of different view, as it for a second seem to speed up and be a completely different color, not sure how to properly explain it. Between the Keepers and Isidora, there seems to be contradicting information here, so one has to wonder what's really going on.

Coming to think of it, the Ministry of Magic is rather useless and incompetent. They keep their heads in the sand about Ranrok and him terrorising the Highlands and the hamlets there (Feldcroft and according to Sebastian, Marunweem, to name a few) and their aurors do nothing about Rookwood and Harlow when it comes to their activities. Must be really embarrassing that two Hogwarts students are doing more than they will ever do.

They can't kill him because that would mean that you can't save a 15-year-old girl. And there's a similar situation in Harry Potter. If Peter Pettigrew can fake his death by causing an explosion and disappearing, then Victor Rookwood can too. And I also think that there is no climax to the fight against Rookwood. When you defeat Harlow, you see a sequence where Harlow attacks you again and Natty intervenes and he is then arrested, and Harlow was only considered the second most dangerous wizard, and after you defeat Ranrok there's a video sequence. With Rookwood, however, the game continues straight away and the character just says that Rookwood deserved it. And I think that makes it feel like Ranrok and Harlow's stories are complete, but the story of Rookwood, who is one of the two big villains, doesn't feel like you've defeated a major villain after a final battle. It seems more like any other fight against the Aschwinder.
