Decided it wasn't worth the $/effort. This one was almost 10 years old. Replaced with a new GE. (Bakes much better than this one ever did).

I love vintage Hewlett Packard deskjet printers, generous ink cartridge capacities, no chips or firmware killing off a usable cartridge or stopping you using expired ones and their robust build quality. A new HP printer breaks as soon as it's out the box. I had a deskjet 400 in the mid 1990s and it used the green topped version of them cartridges. If you wanted to print colour you had to swap out the black for a colour which would make black by mixing the cyan, magenta and yellow heavily as a substitute. You had a protective case for the cartridge while not in use, you had a change cartridge button on the printer. Those era of ink cartridges both blue and green top are still produced officially by HP in small numbers. The 51604A for HP's 1984 thinkjet is still even produced official hp oem. I have from 2008 an HP officejet K7100 A3 printer, I bought it new and sealed in 2012 on ebay. It's definitely one of HP's last decent printers.

1.) Set oven to Broil on Hi. 2.) Wait about 10 minutes for oven to get around 350. (Might want to use in-oven thermometer). 3.) Cancel Broil 4.) Press Bake and set desired temperature.

will it run with the belt off? Belts that are too tight may help burn out the motor but that seems unlikely because that's a pretty heavy duty motor. Also, look for any kind of micro or leaf switch that may disengage for safety with all the (or one) cover off. I just got one. The belt is loose but it's working and I'm going to leave it alone. What good is it really - I only intend to use it to address envelopes. a word processor, sadly, has made these great old Machines obsolete.

I just bought one - it's a beautiful unit - but it hums - the carriage return is really VIOLENT - ( LOL) and The cartridge is stuck? any suggestions?

Yes! The return on these is violent, but I prefer the auto return to manual. And alot of them just hum. I relaced the belts on one, but ended up damaging the case. There is a lever that you push underneath the cartridge to release it, have you tried that? Hope this helps!

I'm still using an early 2009 iMac. It works fine for basic tasks like web browsing and watching KZbin videos. Not good with gaming though. Ran Minecraft on it lags in old versions of the game and can't even run new versions of the game on their because the OS is too old. But for basic tasks it fine though a little slow at times

Hi, yes you can select DAB radio use you track skip buttons (⏮⏭) to find/scan for stations once you’ve found you’re station hold down you’re desired preset number and you’ll see it store to number on the screen 🙂

The dial on both machines is for the temperature. Clearly, the Oster was turned up too high to start. Over browned in the middle not done on the edges. The Cuisinart was set very close to the correct temp. To me, in my humble opinion, they both worked well. Just need to get the right heat setting.

Thank you for the comment. Yes. The knob was more in the middle, between min and max, it was not too high or too low. The Farberware waffle maker that I have been using for years has the same knob setup as the Oster and produces uneven results just like the brand new Oster does, no matter what setting it is on since it also does not flip. Both non-flip machines produce uneven results. The only non-flip waffle maker that I have had good luck with was a 80's Toastmaster Belgian Waffle Maker that I purchased at an Estate Sale back in 2010. It always produced even results, but unfortunately ended up replacing it with the Farberware in 2013. So I was trying to find something that cooked the same way as that old Toastmaster. Hope this helps!

i use this thing and its rlly good and usually the price of these is like $40-$60 or for me in the uk around $30-£50 and by the way the max amount of ram is 6gb so its not too bad! and also a lot of apps still work on os x 10.11.6 so you could still some music producing applications, however fl studio and such won't work unless you use dosdude1's patcher to use future versions on unsupported systems (personally i haven't) but anyway good review and you got a sub and like!

Glad you had good luck with your machine! I tried installing the patcher on an identical mac that had had Windows installed, but it just hung at the patcher installer screen for hours and never worked. Pretty sure installing win over the original MacOS totally corrupted the machine, has never worked since. But, the machine pictured here, I have left alone with the latest MacOS it could run and haven't tired to update it based on the aforementioned experience hahaha! And thank you very much!! :)

What are you doing on OS X El Capitan? Just go ahead and patch to Catalina using Dosdude1's patcher! Then, to get rid of all the weird custom APFS boot code (it shows a lot of code every time it boots), use OpenCore bootloader!

I'm not sure on this. I no longer have the vehicle, but I think you would probably have to move over to AM and store the presets under AM. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure, you will probably have to look under Apple's website. It is a more involved process taking these all in one's apart ( I have not yet tried). My other identical 2009 iMac has what I think is a corrupt/bad hard disk as I can't reinstall MAC OS, so I may try opening it up one day!

It should be capable of running more modern programs, as this model was last supported/updated by Apple in 2018.

I'd avoid doing that. But sure, it's possible. Just patch to Catalina first with Dosdude1's patcher (and then use OpenCore bootloader if the code Dosdude1's patcher displays when booting annoys you). Then, just make sure you don't run anything that requires a Metal GPU or it will crash. For example, the latest versions of GarageBand and Logic do require Metal, so use older versions (in fact use the latest version that can work on High Sierra to be safer).
