You cross threaded the bolt after grinding it . The proper way to do that job is to use a tap to clean the threads on the carrier bearing , and then use a die to clean he threads on the bolt . That was a terrible example for any rookie shade tree mechanics . BTW , grinding a threaded bolt is never a good idea . Always and only tap & die buggered bolts or holes your a hack .

I want to put in the HARD brake pipe on front of volvo, both front wheels, anyone know if you can just weasel the pipes into position (pre-bent from volvo), or do you have to take a crap load of parts out to get them to fit? Maybe this is a pay-up and have Volvo install them...

i'm doing this now, volvo V70. every stinkin bolt and nut is fighting to the death. i gave up with sprays and put grease on the threads, penetration spray don't do squat. i put a wire brush on a drill to clean the threads first, then the grease. the grease is a big help. i just installed a midrise lift in my garage, it helps i had a breaker baR with 3 foot pipe on the end to get leverage. it took me almost 4 hours to get the driver side. i need to get an earthquake air impact.

What you got is about 3 quart.....should measure the old oil and put new oil in the same the old oil if not you needs to do temperature check .no guessing oil on the cvt transmission. Edited; that's not flush, it's called drop the pan most of old oil still in the torque converter and in the radiator
