Brutal event that was! The Sunday weather destroyed me. Great watching your video, I made one too if you fancy checking it out. I’ll be back on it again for 2025! Safe riding pal 🫡🙌🏻

I like the TPT but it does frustrate me with poor signage in places. In France the routes are better signposted, marked and maintained. It's almost as if the 'powers that be' hate cycling🤷 Cycling....the future!

Hi Nick do you have a gps of your route would be great to see and me and friend Are doing this in July but others way round only from Berwick to Newcastle then hopefully one day return and do the bit to Edinburgh
@nickhowarthbikeadventurer32175 ай бұрын
Hi mate. U don't really need one it's extremely well signed for the full route. When u get to tynemouth, just follow the river to Newcastle

For future visitors, the bridge at 01:20 is no longer there. It was badly damaged during floods and was scheduled to be removed.

Love it, done it north to home (Newcastle) with good friends, associates and solo, a treat every time. Next trip is a camping north trip Aberdeen to Edinburgh.

Hi lovely conversion. Can I ask what finish you used on all the ply wood. It looks like varnish but can't quite tell. Many thanks Andy
@nickhowarthbikeadventurer3217 Жыл бұрын
Yes it was clear gloss polyurethane varnish. 3x coats, light sand in between
@davdonoghue Жыл бұрын
Excellent . Are the panels 1/2 inch plywood varnished ?

Lovely ride... How difficult was it hill-wise and do you have the GPX file. I want to do Bolton to Chesterfield. Got a good route to Sheffield and a good route to Manchester but want a decent route between Manchester and Sheffield. Thanks.

Dead easy to follow as it wad the trans penine trail. Gets hilly over woodhead but not too bad.

Hi Nick Did the same route on 20th 21st June 23 the weather was fine till 22 miles into ride then the heavens opened and boy did it rain. I came off on a diagonal railway crossing smashing my insta 360x3 camera also hurting myself badly but peddled on to Bamburgh. Next day set off for Edinburgh made a few mistakes on route lost 2.5 hours up and down hills but eventually arrived in Berwick -upon-tweed around 1.50 took a photo on bridge then rode into Berwick then the heavens opened up again with over 5 hours left to Edinburgh we decided to bin it off and caught the train we kind of the trains was canceled so had to get back on a coach feel cheeted that the route was not completed.

I enjoyed that - I know that route very well. I was wondering when you were going to bike pack then noticed you were setting up camp just outside Sheffield. That must have been shouting distance from home?

I was thinking how low the reservoirs were, a month or two back. They looked like end of Summer before summer had arrived. Howden was at just 55% in middle of June. Both it and Derwent are now below 50% 🤥
