@The-Microverse how can I harvest some spring tails from nature it self?
@The-Microverse8 күн бұрын
@casadocaio that happens naturally if you dont protocol your moss, but you might bring in other "undesirable" lifeforms, check what springtails occur in your area and keep an eye out when collecting moss 😁

A lot of people use moss on bonsai soil. And a lot of people use cover crops for growing cannabis indoors. I've been wondering if my indoor medicinal garden would like moss? I typically use Earthboxes or Patio Pickers or the AC Infinity auto watering bases, so I bottom water. But I could water moss with a spray bottle probably and it might be good for the soil microbes and stuff.
@The-Microverse9 күн бұрын
Absolutely it will help keep moisture in the soil, just be sure to follow protocol so that u can use your moss without worry 😁 May the moss be with you
@comfortablynumb93429 күн бұрын
@The-Microverse cool, do you recommend a specific type? I live in Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay and we have a lot of different types of moss.
@The-Microverse9 күн бұрын
@comfortablynumb9342 it would depend on what you are using thr moss for, if it is just as a Bonsai pot topper use pillow moss, or star moss, if you want a low carpet use thread or tangled thread moss ( but tangled thread moss could invade the trunk of the tree) 😁

@The-Microverse 💖 it's weird; I am quite good at growing plants but put them in an enclosure and everything struggles. You'd think that would be better because it's more of a controlled environment. 🤷🏻♀️ Lol
@The-Microverse11 күн бұрын
@PawsAndGrowTV the thing about the Flora lifeforms is that they like consistency more than anything, they aren't meant to move 😅 you change the environment even for the better is still a drastic change to them, the Selaginella taking over Amphibia now was a cutting that melted instantly 🤣 they take some time to acclimate but once they do, they florish, give any flora 6 months to acclimate before making any decisions about it 😁🐙

@The-Microverse11 күн бұрын
@mikeswain9085 First! Thank you for asking questions 😁 Aquasoil is an aquarium substrate that is readily available in all pet stores or if you are in the UK seach amazon for the ExoTerra Substratum (its similar to aquasoil but for terrariums) or search for Aquasoil, but a visit to a local pet store ( preferably a small business) that has fish or reptiles they will have everything you need, Please do let me know if you have ANY questions, I love sharing information like this 😁

Would it be possible to grow moss on a hooded cloak? It sounds like the coolest costume, some sort of badass nature wizard. I'd use natural fabric so I could give the moss back to the forest eventually. But it'd be fun to keep it going on the cloak as long as possible. If it likes fabric, that seems like an easy way to propagate because you can make a big sheet in controlled conditions and then move it to a good spot outside. I'm imagining laying the fabric on a big flat sheet of plastic on an angle. Then to water just pour on the top edge of fabric so it flows and wicks through the fabric and lightly mist the moss itself. Would that work?r Maybe better to hang from a line and setup misters on a timer? Seems like I want to subject the moss to the stress of holding onto the fabric earlier into the process so they hold on strong.
@The-MicroverseАй бұрын
My Goodness!!! This my good lifeform is an Epic Idea, and is absolutely possible, to use it in a costume or cosplay you would need a waterproof fabric under the moss Fabric,to retain humidity and keep the wearer dry, one could also construct a wall apparatus so that you can mount the cloak or hood, making a live wall when not in use 🥹, that way it has light and access to good growing conditions, I absolutely adore this idea and believe it is TOTALLY DOABLE!!!! 😁
@HoboGardenerBenАй бұрын
@The-Microverse Cool, thanks, I'll do some more research and development :)

@The-Microverse I don't mind if you steal the idea and make a video and get millions of views. I'm not going to make a video on it if I make the thing, just wear it for fun. Since you know moss I bet your cloak would be so badass :)

Hey Abi, it was great meeting you in Montreal - hope to meet you again. I noticed a Juniperus procumbens nana, I am sure you're aware of that, they need winter dormancy.
@The-MicroverseАй бұрын
Hallo!!! You noticed correctly! Good eye, should I bring it outside for the season or do I have to put her in the fridge?, near the window is 65 f, would that be good for it? Sorry I just bombarded you with questions 😅🐙
@evolution_bonsaiАй бұрын
@@The-Microverse It needs 35F to 45F (2C-7C) for at least 6 weeks. Any time below 0C doesn't count. In our climate trees get their dormancy units of time in two peaks: fall/early winter and early spring. Other places with saner weather get one peak. You can put it outside and burry it in snow until spring, or you can keep it in a fridge for at least 6 weeks now or in the near future - after dormancy it will start growing again, and the fridge option will give you a longer growing season. Light is not essential in the fridge but some people add it.
