@@IamRizz0 not really lol we just cut along the body line in the bumper and removed all the plastic/metal hanging parts. :)

In my experience they are amazing in the front and suck really bad in the rear, went to timbren rear and now feels solid again through the harsh stuff

@@QuinlanUlysses it hasn’t. I’ve since cut and replaced my front and rear bumper so I don’t have those trim pieces anymore. But the paint was chipping and needed a touch up after 1 year.

How easy was replacing the inner tie rod? I've seen some videos saying a special puller tool is required but others that look like they simply unscrew it.

@@B.Cochran117 for this 2012 4Runner is a special unscrew long tube tool to get the inner tie rod out. No puller needed for sure.

I wouldn’t give up my current early fifth GEN for it. My plan is to get a newer fifth GEN when the time comes maybe a few years down the road a six gen 😊

I'm going to do this bumper chop and mount a hi-lift jack horizontal to the rear crash bar. If I don't, then I definitely deleting the tow hitch receiver will give a cleaner look.

I’ve always disliked how the rear bumper hangs lower than the body lines so I’ve always wanted to do this cut so the rear is higher than the body. Finally made the jump and cut it!.

@John.ThirteenPoint6969 bro, he said he's keeping it to til the wheels fall off so there ain't gonna be "the next owner". Plus, you can find a replacement rear bumper especially in white at the local salvage yard in good condition. They are dime a dozen, it's not like it's not reversible.

Either way seems like a mod someone in a Honda civic would perform. Now you get to look at the crusty hitch hanging out and the fart can sounding exhaust 🤷🏻‍♂️ each to their own.

I have a mbrp cat back exhaust and it comes in pieces so I just removed the last piece and it now dumps right after the axel :)

@@4runnerbros OK cool. I have the magna flow “overland“ and it dumps like halfway between the axle, and the stock exit point. But write on the frame, I consider cutting it back and dumping it a little bit higher and pointing at towards the wheel well a bit

Newer one like in the video (5th gen) yes, but the new 6th gen maybe not so much now that toyota went with a 4 cylinder turbo setup. More options just equals to more problems.

Nicely done, you've done a clean build without going too much. My 2016 4runner trail build is pretty much the same. I do a lot of overlandding, so mine has the rhinorack batwing with the same corner mollie panels as you do. There are too many toys to list, but you get it 😅😅. Keep up the good work, and be safe out there.
