Great breakdown at the end, and the flowers really make the scene pop.

This is a great idea! I’ll have to use this as I start my own city here soon, thank you for sharing your techniques.

This is a great idea if you don't want to fully MILS plate. I've seen people use the 1x1 round studs with the narrow top on them (31570) as they fit into the grooves on the baseplate. I haven't tried them so don't know how stable they would be. I just thought I'd mention it in case you want to give that a go too 😊
@ChrisBricks0211 сағат бұрын
I’ve actually tried that before! The only issue with that, at least for me, is that it requires 2 baseplates for every baseplate, if that makes sense. So essentially I’m using double the amount of baseplates, which I don’t really have an excess of, and I found that depending on when the baseplate was made, the grooves underneath the baseplate are slightly different sizes. As much as I would like that building technique to work out, it’s unfortunately just not in the cards for my city at the moment. Thank you for the suggestion though!

@@ChrisBricks02 That's interesting to know. I wasn't sure it would work and I didn't have enough of the modified 1x1s to try it. I'll not be rushing out to buy them then lol. I currently use foam boards under my modulars. This raises them just above the road plates and for my small city it works fine. Loving how your city is coming together - very creative. Look forward to your upcoming videos 😊
@ChrisBricks029 сағат бұрын
I bet foam boards work great! The studs with the narrow bar did work in some cases, but not for every single baseplate I tried it with. I did buy a bunch in dark green (that was the cheapest color at the time), but they were cheap and I can always reuse them for some interesting plant techniques, or something else entirely, so I’m not super worried about them being a waste - I’m sure I’ll find a use for them eventually, and thank you!

Nice city! An idea for the exposed brick along the rail line is to use a solid line of brick. Or, you can use plate stacked and staggered to add to the ballasting (or a dirt path). Look forward to seeing more.

I would change the fencing and tiling to the museum. The fence seems like it belongs in a residential setting. The tilling to the museum needs to be “grander”. Some coloring and assorted sizes is suggested.

I feel like there is a Lego KZbin channel to creating a clone army pipeline.
@ChrisBricks025 күн бұрын
That's not in the cards for me (for now at least). I have a smaller clone 'army' (20 ish clones) that I'm content with so I'm mostly focusing on the city and obtaining pieces for that at the moment

Hey, I want your opinion. I started a pad printing business a few months back, and looking for ideas that people want. I've got a few "city" items now like road signs and whatnot, but what else do people who build this massive cities want? Pirates/Castle/minifigs I know like the back of my hand, but the massive cities escape me. Thanks
@ChrisBricks029 күн бұрын
I'm nowhere close to this stage yet (of adding smaller details to the city), but I think street signs with different names would be pretty cool. You mentioned you already have road signs, which I assume includes stop signs, yield signs, pedestrian crossing signs, turn lane signs, etc. I also think signs that businesses would put out front of their stores could also be really cool, maybe like a custom menu out front of a restaurant!

Great job breaking up the squareness of the 16x16 plates. I think once you get some more texture on the hill (plants, etc) it will really look sharp.
