Had same sound on engine, its either pocket valves, cams or adjusters....or all of them as they work together.

I have the same problem, did you found what heck? oil lifters have more metal sound, here is soft sound

somereal it disappeared by itself! Oil lifter mostly! Engine sounds just fine otherwise. Neither cam adjuster nor air intake sensor!

Changed oil from 0W40 to 5W40 and made sure the engine is filled with oil correctly as it consumes oil with time. In the state, they use 0W40 as its too hot, but oil level is the key seems like!

@@_ezmath sorry for the late reply as I just seen this. Ya it was hydraulic lifter tapping due to lack of oil, even a quart less will cause this noise. Once oil changed and filled properly the tapping was gone

neo max oil lifter malfunction? Did u change all the lifters? Or was it just the oil that u changed?

Stefanos Baskas just the oil. And make sure it's filled enough as the engine burns oil very fast. Although the tapping still appears for few minutes on a cold start, then disappears.

Well, from what I have researched. It's mostly an oil lifter tapping as its a common issue with M156 engines. And I happen to learn with time that he less oil level in ur engine (witching the safe limits) the louder the tapping.
