I like how this scene (well, most of them) play off of his warped perception of reality, having been raised by TV. In his mind this was his big moment where he shows he's actually got hidden talents, and in most movies would be where Chip - after the game - says "wow! Why didn't you tell me you could play like that?!" and they instantly become best buddies over their shared love of basketball. In reality, he just ruined the game by taking it too seriously and made him look like a fool in front of his friends, but he doesn't realize this and clearly feels robbed of his big "movie bonding moment". Not to mention that most (lasting) friendships aren't formed on big gestures like this, it's usually the mundane stuff (like shooting the shit over a Heineken).

Hi, I have read that the hot exhaust can damage the screen. Have you had this happen to you? My screen is almost impossible to remove but yet I don't want heat damaging it. Thanks.

Chip was the best player on the court. He dominated the glass, moved his feet on defense, dove for loose balls, set a monster screen and dunked on everyone. They were just upset he was better than them.

I once had to deal with that when I was sleeping there was a guy who was trying to call me and it went to voicemail and it said, “believe it or not, Jake, you are asleep”. It went to that level. That’s pretty much being a stalker. It’s better than what he did the next time. He said, “believe it or not you are a white ass”. He’s dead to me now

Awesome movie. Chip is basically a guy with autism spectrum who doesn't understand social norms and can't read people's emotions easily and grew up learning them like they're a skill (as opposed to an innate ability as it is for most people) from American blockbusters. He wants to fit in, which is why he wants desperately to make a friend. Of course it's also a top quality film that creates a perfect synthesis of comedy, levity, suspense, horror, and drama.
