love it when arrogant narcissistic greedy ppl fall. and these kind of ppl are still in powerful and leadership positions heading the downfall of Scotland a country that's fast losing its history and identity. the rot is deep and wide.

The credit rating agencies said it was all OK until long after the end.... and no one went to jail. Someone had learned from ENRON and changed the international accounting standards to let the auditors get away with concealing the risk.

This shows the corruption of the elite and love this documentary. Only issues I have is that Barney Frank is as corrupt as any of them and main part of the problem. George Soros is corrupt as well and terrible problem for the US and the world,

The problem with these funds is it doesnt take talent to start a hedgefund it just takes money, and most of the monkeys behind most of the hedgefunds are just using their clients funds to leverage their own schemes.
@RobRasun-yr4ej3 күн бұрын
I dont get why these guys run ponzi schemes. If you can buy a business for 10 times yearly profit your already doing better than a regular stock..... You can literally make a real decent hedgefund with 10% returns with absolutely no talent at all.

Notice how this whole documentary is made to look like these guys are the heroes who saved the world? Yes, they probably stopped a depression from happening but they are the same people that started all of it and allowed to happen (willingly) Look at how many of the politicians there are still in power today. Some of them either control the current leadership or they are still directly in those positions of power. Don't buy this dramatic documentary making it look like the evil that created it is somehow innocent and they never knew what they were doing. THEY KNEW 100%

What a crock of dung. The whole "crisis" began with Clinton administration and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), forcing banks to underwrite mortgages to low-income borrowers or face regulatory constraints. CRA regulations are at the core of Fannie's and Freddie's so-called affordable housing mission. In the early 1990s, a Democrat Congress gave HUD the authority to set and enforce (through fines) CRA-grade loan quotas at Fannie and Freddie. CRA shakedown groups like far-Left Acorn held hostage the merger plans of banks like Citibank and Washington Mutual until they pledged more loans to credit-poor minorities. Barney Frank, a Democrat, was chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and a longtime supporter of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Because of the housing crisis, Barney Frank later admitted it was a mistake to force home ownership on people that couldn’t afford it. President Bush in 2003 proposed a bill to strengthen Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae regulation. But Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd both stated Fannie and Freddie were not facing any financial crisis. In 2005, the Bush administration made another attempt to downsize Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, the bill got through the House committee, despite unanimous Democratic opposition. A vote was blocked by Democrats on the floor of the Senate. By 2008 President Bush called for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae reform, 17 times, the 18th time was the charm.

Apart from that you are wrong. Banks were never forced to underwrite these kind of mortgages. They wanted to do it.

Around 42:30 Fuld says, 'I don't understand. Where did we go wrong?' Are you kidding? It was 40X leverage. One small move up will make you quite wealthy, but one small move down will absolutely kill your enterprise. That kind of risk is almost inconceivable. As it turns out, greed is NOT good.

I was a successful matchmaker. Here are some facts. 60% of all marriages end sooner or later. Of the remaining 40% at least 25% stay married because they are simply to lazy or don't care enough to get a divorce or stay together because of finances or the children but are not happy. So only 15% or less are possibly lasting for love. Those who apply a more practical attitude to marriage win out in the end. It's not a bad thing to embrace money and the only people who claim that it should be are those who don't have it. Making a deal with someone with clear expectations and consequences is a good thing in the long run. Doesn't mean there wont be love as long as it lasts. BTW. money goes both ways. There are plenty of older women having young boyfriends.
