Okay, but you need a special wetting dispenser to complement it, which is the bulk of the expense, and by itself a single kraft water activated package tape 3" x 375' roll costs on average 10x as much as plastic packaging tape. You really didn't provide any pressure to the full body of the pressure sensitive package tape as you did with the water activated tape, so it is obvious that it failed for you.

there is such a thing as 100% plant-derived, renewable, and industrially compostable, Pressure sensitive see through tape (Cello Carton Sealing Tape) in case you need an alternative

There are ways to seal a box with clear packing tape to prevent easy opening. The mail department at TRW used Kraft tape exclusively during the 1980s. The adhesive drying on your hands is a mess. The wetting brush becomes contaminated and smells just awful.

The "strip" is most commonly referred to as Teflon tape.

We had these at the Pentagon 60 years ago. Back then they weren't electronic, but the pre-set functions were the same and the fact they were electric kept your hands from getting all gummy. They sure saved a lot of time when you were sealing dozens of boxes at a time and were a lot more environmentally friendly than plastic packaging tape today.
