at 32:00 , pop didn't remove the last array items if I added them using setdetailattrib . The below doesn't pop remove the 9.6 or 9.35 float values[] = {0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 9.76, 9.45}; setdetailattrib (0, "values", 9.6,"append" ); setdetailattrib (0, "values", 9.35,"append" ); //removing last items pop(values); pop(values);

Great one again, thanks ! A few times I found it hard to follow/understand your reasoning for dropping an equation (for example here : 2:06:50 ) would be nice if you explain a bit more. Oh and you missed the WIDTH ATTRIBUTE of the LAB POLYWIRE, there's no need to transfer the uvs from the labpolywire to the regular polywire. It's just under the width parameter, just check it and use your pscale ;)

In the last segment, a point was added to revolve around a sphere. I created two spheres. How does the wrangle know to use the first sphere as a reference? Also, instead of using geometry to revolve around the sphere, I wanted to use several points. Naturally, I created a scatter and used the copy-to-points node. However, the point wrangle treats each point (sphere) as a single point. What am I missing?

For checking the s value at around 1hr 21min 31 sec there is still some values that hit 1 btw. I double checked in the downloaded file too it ends up being some points that live inside the obstacle bounds.

Thank you so much. This helped me understand particles and how to apply them to magnetic fields, especially solar flares. However, when I replaced the pig head with a sphere, the points seemed to cluster to one side and new points did not appear when the geometry spreadsheet said otherwise. Is there a unique difference in geometry that would cause this to happen?

Thanks for the great tutorial! I’d like to use it for a project in architecture school, but instead of applying it to a flat surface, I want to use a curved one. However, I'm running into issues with the Mesh Closest Point and later with the Area function, as the curve isn’t planar. Do you know how I could fix this

Nice tut for array. Is there a function if you want to read the value of a specific index of a detail array attribute from a point wrangle ?

Hello! I am a web systems engineer with no prior experience in 3DCG, primarily working in backend service development. Recently, I developed an interest in 3D modeling and began exploring Blender by researching various online resources. However, I soon realized that the process felt more akin to drawing, which didn’t quite resonate with me, leading me to take a step back. That said, I still hold Blender in high regard as an outstanding product. By chance, I discovered Houdini and found that its mathematical integration and closer relationship to programming align perfectly with my skill set and experience. Before I knew it, I had subscribed to the Indie plan! However, I struggled to find resources beyond the official documentation until I stumbled upon this playlist of videos. Starting today, I’ve decided to complete all 52 tutorials and aim to create my own original short film! (I’m making this declaration here to keep myself accountable, as I tend to lose motivation otherwise.) Thank you for these excellent videos!
